Well I was one of the first to get the Blockbuster Total Access, I get three movies in the mail and I can return them to the blockbuster Store as much as I want and rent 3 movies for free from the store. If the movie is in my queue and I get it from the store, it automatically takes it off my queue. Last but not least, I get a coupon every month that can go towards a free movie or game (99.9999% goes to renting a game) for free. Needless to say, I would be thrilled it the Total Access would include game rentals. I hope the price I pay now would not increase but I might consider a small bump.

GamezNFlix had movies and game rentals. And they're gone now. So this could be the beginning of the end for BB TotalAccess...

Its not the concept that sunk them, it was the shitty execution.

I've been saying Netflix would be smart to offer a seperate plan for game rentals. It's a great idea.

I'm still not giving a cent to Blockbuster though.

After all of the bullshit I had to put up with from Blockbuster in the past, they could integrate cocaine and blowjobs into their Total Access pass and I'd still tell them to go to hell.

ok after this update I am even more confused. is that a $5 fee per game?? or Just $5 per month. if its per game they are fucking insane. and I Honestly could care less about BB streaming on the PS3 as netflix is SO much better and have very LITTLE risk of failing.

I'm not sure about your question of whether the quality will be that of Netflix and Gamefly. Granted, Netflix does receive and send movies quick in my experience, but their streaming service needs a lot of work (with the 360 at least). Now Gamefly is another story. A couple years ago, it was exactly like Netflix. You put games in a list, and they send you the games in order. Sometime in the last year and a half or maybe longer, they adopted this multi-tiered "availability" system. There are about 5 different types of availability, but if it isn't listed as "available now" don't count on seeing that game. I would have 30 games in a list, and consistently receive number 7 or 10 on my list. I've given them multiple tries and each time they have disappointed. The only good thing about gamefly was if you actually got a game you wanted, the option to Keep It was very cool and you ended up with a used game MUCH cheaper than you could get it at Game$top.

With that said I am anxious to see how Blockbuster does.

Hopefully GameFly adds new distribution centers because I refuse to use Blockbuster.

They've charged me for games that I returned. Incompetent company.

When I was in LA, Gamefly had a 1 day turnaround for games, I would send it back on Monday and have a new title by Wed. When I moved home to DC the service went into the crapper. I send a game back on Monday, I'm lucky if they even "receive it and check it in" by Thursday, I don't get a replacement title until the following week. What's worse, I had been a member of gamefly for 1 year at the 4 out plan, then I cancelled for 5 months. When I restarted, they would only let me do 2 at a time, I had to "earn" my way back up to 4 at a time plan. It took 4 or 5 months. It was ridiculous, this despite the fact that I use their keep it plan a lot - their used prices are $20 cheaper than new. But yeah, Gamefly sucks, but they are the only real game delivery company out there, I wish there was someone new and good.

I've had netflix for a long time now, and I love it. Never had a significant problem, always fast turnaround. This is: Berkeley, CA, Seattle, WA, and Denver, CO.

I had gamefly a while back (several years), but didn't play enough games for it to be worth it. At the time, I don't remember any problems besides slow turnaround (seattle to LA and back). A friend just got me a year subscription, and so far it is decent. Got Rock band to transfer the songs, then COD4 and mirrors edge, all from the top of my Q. Next they jumped a bit and sent me Folklore rather than Valkyria Chronicles (which was at the top). No biggie. Remains to be seen how much Q jumping I get from here on out. Turnaround is not the best (Denver to Texas), but apparently my local post office has the quickreturn system, whereby they scan the barcode when it enters their system, improving the time to get he next game significantly.

People should keep in mind that it takes time and costs huge amounts of money to ramp up both game library (they are way more expensive than movies) and distribution centers. It took a long time for netflix to get where it is today. Also, gamefly has to deal with the added complexity of variable shaped commodity (stnadard disk -based games, and DS cartridges). Next up for gamefly is the Seattle distribution center. They seem to be steadily adding them, so hopefully it will only get better.

I would love it if netflix bought gamefly. One system would be so much better than 2, and probably cheaper. Plus netflix obviously has excellent organization, which gamefly could maybe use a little help in.

One things for sure - I will never give blockbuster any more money. They are creeps, and an outrageous rip-off. Plus they are owned by the Mormons, and as such they edit their movie selection to remove anything overly sexual or the least bit homosexual, but see no problems with massively violent films.

Umm, that is one of the worst lies and complete BS I've seen in a comment.

First of all, what does it matter if the company is owned by Mormons? Do you get upset over Catholic- or Muslim-owned companies? And for that matter, the company isn't "owned" by any one person(s). They're like most corporations with a board and public shares.

Also, come into my Blockbuster and I will show you a TON of homosexual themed movies and a Blockbuster exclusive right now is Zack and Miri Make a Porno. So your argument about editing movies - we are not a studio! The only thing we don't rent out is PORN - thank god for that.

So calm down.

Alight, I admit that that comment was based on a lot of old and second-hand information, and I apologize.

The statement about the Mormons owning BB - which was true at one time at least - referred to the church itself having a controlling interest, which was believed to be the cause of the one-time antigay stance of BB. Note I said they edited the selection of movies, not the movies themselves. Clearly that must have changed. I admit I haven't set foot in a BB in years.

Again, I admit that my statement was not based on current information, and I apologize. Let it not be said that I don't admit my mistakes.

I *love* Netflix. I get movies within one day, plus I can stream on my Roku, laptop, or Xbox 360. I don't even bother with cable; It's all on Netflix or online.

As for games-- Well, I don't bother with rentals. I do trades at Goozex. The games are MINE, with no time limit. I can trade for another game whenever I want. No money needs to change hands. It's just a better way to go.

Having managed a Blockbuster in the past, I can safely say that I don't want to do business with them ever again. Too many of their low-wage workers will pocket returned items and then let it look like the customer never returned it. The company sides with the employees, and the customer ends up paying for something he honestly returned on time. There's worse stuff, too. I wouldn't trust Blockbuster with my money.

On top of that, their pricing scheme just plain sucks. Frankly, I hope they go out of business. It would serve them right for putting customer service near the end of their list of priorities. Maybe if they paid their employees a little better, and treated them with a bit more respect, and didn't make them wear those ugly blue polo shirts, they'd find time and effort to treat customers right and wouldn't lose all their business to Netflix.

Why I might check this out:

1. I have a store right down the street
2. I like Movies and Games
3. Possible integration with PS3!!!!

So, is this now a Netflix vs Blockbuster game? I'll say it now, that's 2-0, Sony.
