Ugh, I know, you'd think a big corp like Microsoft could pull some strings and get Lego to do it. But then again, Lego USED to be very anti-violence, so that's probably what happened...oh well. I've never liked the feel of mega blocks either...

I do like the way the figures look, though.

yeah, legos are better.

is lego really anti-violence though? obviously they're kids toys, but the still have pirate/ninja themed stuff, and bionicles aren't exactly all about hugs and kisses. maybe they just don't want to promote kids playing an M-rated game.

Hey I was wondering does anyone know where I can find step by step instructions on building halo themed vehicles and stuff?

I had really, really low expectations for these...but after seeing that picture I must say I'm a bit more impressed.

Sweet.... My son will love it!

Yes Legos are the 'Real Deal' but Mega blocks have come a long way. I only wanted to get legos for the kids, but some friends have bought them Mega blocks & there not really that bad. (Not as tight as legos, but pretty decent)

meh, the set pictured above is really the only decent looking set, the scorpion is awful looking. I might get my hands on the imported Kubricks master chief set, those look sweet.

Mega Bloks really have much better figures than LEGO. Halo being a property for an "older" player is much better served with Mega Bloks over LEGO.

Mega Bloks bricks/sets are also very nice with cool special parts *BUT* the tolerance on the plastic makes the parts much more warpy and harder to hold together and stay together. I think this is the biggest thing holding Mega Bloks back at this point. Parents buy one set of the newest cool theme, the kids/parents have a hard time with the bigger parts like castle towers or boat sides holding tight and so they don't go back to buy more.

On the other hand LEGO is tight with great quality plastic but you get a much more simplistic looking set in the end and fewer pieces per set. Their mini-figs are also frustrating in that half of them have yellow hands and heads and the other have a flesh tone. (LEGO property = yellow skin, movie property = flesh skin) So the kids' figures don't all match and aren't all interchangeable.

Those wanting HALO for LEGO can get them here...

Not an ad, just an FYI
Of course... those are just... uh... random space soldier parts...
