Atlus has officially announced the North American version of Knights in the Nightmare, the last DS game to come out of that Amazon.ca "leak". Knights is the third game in Sting's "Dept. Heaven" series: Yggdra Union was the first, followed by Riviera. Confusingly, this is "Episode IV" of the series, while Riviera is "Episode I" and Yggdra is "Episode II." A bundle of Knights and Yggdra Union was available in Japan -- wouldn't that be a lovely "Atlus Spoils" bonus?
Knights of the Nightmare incorporates "strategy RPG, real-time strategy, and shooter elements" into a game about a wisp who can occupy and control soldiers on a battlefield. Players use the stylus to position soldiers and then fire projectiles at enemies from multiple angles.
Knights will be available June 2nd for $34.99. Check our gallery for new English screens, and come back next week when Atlus inevitably announces an included soundtrack!

This is another fun game that I'm glad to see come over. The basic gameplay is simple but it can be very complex depending on how far you want to delve into what it has to offer. Like the other Sting games it tries to be as different as possible without being too alienating, although I'd say this is their most innovate game yet (thanks to touchscreen control).

Hardly a surprise, I could see this one coming from a mile away.

heh....hehheh....It's a conspiracy...it's a outright, plain as day, blatant conspiracy against my wallet, Mr. Piggy(if I kept one), and our overall sanity on what to buy here(Atlus is awesome). They're trying to make us go broke yo, forealz(Atlus is ownage). Obviously Atlus hasn't been affected by the recession( in month or so I'll be acting like I haven't either), I mean how many games are to release in the US so far before summer's end...1..2..4..6!...8!...>_> I actually remembered ten, yea no more counting( bad thing is, I want them all). I was pretty sure I didn't want My World, My Way or 101 in 1 Explosive Megamix, but it seems, according to review, "My World, My Way" is a rpg's rpg and not something to take likely, and although I'm tired of minigames now, if they can make Megamix work, I'll pick it up at some point...maybe.
Anyway, back on topic with Sting. Anythiing from this series is welcome in my collection, I mean I'm still trying to get Yggdra Union out of my head. Yes, Yggdra Union with it's lack of HP restoring items, ridiculously long battles, perma-death, and oh oh don't forget the long range aoe cannons(awesome isn't it).
One question though, If Knights in the Nightmare is episode IV, what is episode III?

Uh...Yggdra Union wasn't first anywhere...Riviera has always been the first Dept. Heaven game...because it was out on the Wonder Swan first, then GBA...and THEN Yggdra Union came out. 8[

So, someone indulge me...
Do these games connect to eachother somewhere storywise?
I remember finishing Riviera, but grew bored of Yggdra quite fast.
Did the stories intersect somewhere?
Or are they just, games set in the same universe?

YAHOOOO!!! Viva Atlus!!
By the way, EXTREME Seph is right: Riviera was first, then Yggdra Union came much, much later...
But as far as I can tell, there is no connection between them, other than the developer team being all the same. BEST and most beautiful-looking and most complex GBA game ever made, this Yggdra Union, by the way. And that's not just me saying that!
