Valve has announced that the price of its upcoming Left 4 Dead DLC, which includes a new "Survival" mode and "Versus" mode support for two more campaigns, will be set at ... zero dollars for both the PC and Xbox 360 versions.
Wow. Our posts are really short when we can't find anything to complain about.

I'm glad that Valve was finally able to convince Microshit to give their customers something for free for once...

Nice, hopefully MS doesn't make them change their minds.

Valve was already my favorite with Orange Box and L4D, but now they're my favoritest. Put their emblem next to that in the dictionary.

This is cool as it's one of a few titles my wife and I play together.
we don't play often though and as yet have only beaten 3 campaigns and no versus stuff so this should be ready when we are.
Thank you valve for remaining awesome.

I never thought I'd see "free" and "dlc" in the same sentence for the 360., especially for such a high visibility title. =D

..and that's why Valve is awesome. They aren't a corporate greed machine like EPIC, who releases a map pack conveniently less than month after a game release of a game that doesn't even work. Enjoy your money EPIC, because no one is buying your third game.

Maybe it's just me, but I would've rather paid for new content, than have all 4 of the campaign maps enabled for vs rather than just 2.

Nice, now how about the Medic, Pyro, Heavy, Gametypes, and Maps for TF2 on The Orange Box for 360?

This is my opinion...
If there are "new" maps it will be great.
If it is just death toll and dead air on versus it will still be great.
Why?
One reason...
Its FREE!

1.) Thank you valve for bestowing upon us your glory. These new maps will truly expand on the already vastly entertaining maps that are already available. Plus giving us SDK? mmm, Valve = naughty thoughts.
2.) For everyone complaining and saying that Microsoft isn't screwing developers over by saying they have to pay for content... this is somewhat right... The thing is, DLC does not have to have a charge tagged along with it to be distributed, but rather, Microsoft charges to have new gamerpoints tagged onto the game with the included DLC. So this, in turn, somewhat does screw developers over. I know personally that half of the reason I still play this game is because of all the great achievements that are in there, and how challenging they actually are. But when Valve is forced to release the DLC without the new gamepoints tagged onto it, they are losing some replay value considering the new SDK map will give you 'medals' varying from bronze to gold, but in turn, will not be able to distribute any gamerpoints with it because they are making it free.
I've done some research on this, and believe this is all correct, but someone please correct me if there is anything incorrect in the above statement. Hope this clears some things up at least! =]
