The Force Unleashed may have sold 5.7 million units worldwide, but let's take a look at the substance of that figure. Gamasutra notes that the global total is made up of all the various platforms the title was available on. The list includes all major consoles, handhelds, iPod Touch, iPhone, N-Gage (for realz?!) and other mobile devices.
Despite the varying quality of Force Unleashed on all platforms, the competent next-gen offerings were a hit right out of the space hanger. Although the gameplay may not have been stellar, the story certainly captured people's attention, as the title went on to recently win a Writers Guild award for game writing.

While I downloaded the demo, I haven't bought a copy as of yet, maybe when it's $20. I expect about 10 hours from FPSs but not action adventures.

On the note about it winning a writer's guild award, it's worth nothing a lot of titles aren't eligible (or rather, those titles' writers), as only guild members are eligible. Still, it's a fun romp for a Star Wars game, and the plot is pretty good (barring subpar mainline acting).

I actually thought this is the way a Star Wars game should feel. If they worked on improving a lot of things, they'd have me coming back.

An instantly forgettable gaming experience.
After about 10 minutes, it felt like any other saber-centric Star Wars title. Long load times. Bad camera angles. What's the use in having "never-before seen" Force powers when the enemies in the game are so darn hard to kill?
I wish they would have put time into a next-gen only release instead of making a game for every conceivable format (I think they made it for Atari 2600, too), maybe then it would have been better.

I have it for 360, and while its not an "Epic" game, i enjoyed it. I have played through it a few times, and it gets better each time. Some of the bosses are stupidly difficult. However nothing is perfect. This game definitely warrants a 2nd. The next one could be a totally new story, but based on the same game engine etc...
I'd like to see some kind of co-op with joint force powers. And potentialy some kind of multi player. you dont need to have a free for all, but some kind of Horde mode, like gears of war 2, or multi player mission based games would be sweet.

That's pretty dame good in game sales, but there however a lot of star wars fans that will buy most star wars games because it says "star wars".
Its a shame that TFU wasn't on the pc, there is always so much potential in mods these days, however the next star wars game they should do is just dedicate a game to Darth vader, and just play Darth vader, so like you start as anakin and you work your way up and become Darth vader.
Now i know there was a star wars episode 3 game which had that same idea but i only played the gamboy advance version which was awesome, so I'm basically asking whether or not anyone liked the console versions of episode 3?

I only read the TPB but that was awesome so I can't imagine it in motion.

Wow, really? You're talking about the comic, right? I wondered if anybody would read it without playing the game.
I wrote my take on that awhile back...

If you liked the story in the TPB, you'll really like the game.

N-Gage as a phone is dead. N-Gage as an 'app store' for Nokia smartphones is alive and very much kicking.
