PSN Thursday: Don't be a Qore, give Flower a chance

Flower is now available to download from the US PSN Store. What are you still doing here? Fine, there is some other stuff, but you should really look into fixing your priorities. Disgaea 3 gets even more DLC today, along with all the normal rhythm games. There's no LittleBigPlanet DLC, despite Europe getting some, but there is a new episode of Qore, which includes a free copy of PS1 classic Syphon Filter, playable on both PS3 and PSP.

Flower is at 16% for me right now. This is my first ever full PSN game. :P

If Flower is your thing than you should look into flOw, Eden, and Linger in the Shadows. All very unique experiences bordering on art installations. PSN is great for those kinds of experiences.

Can't wait to get home and download flower.

I don't pay for browser games. :P

Yeah, some people are insecure about owning a PS3. Me, not so much, I have awesome games and have a great time playing them. If another platform offered something I wanted, I'd get it; my only allegiance to Sony and PS3 is that it's the best platform (for me).

Maybe it would make them feel better if I said that this is the same reason I didn't buy Defend Your Castle on WiiWare.

There's nothing sadder than game snobs. If you haven't played Eden or Linger in Shadows, or even fLow, you're missing out. They're all cool experiences.

I didn't say anything about Linger in Shadows or Eden, and I have played Flow. I played it for free. Apparently that make me a bad person in the eyes of the Sony fanboys.

I'd give Flower a chance if there was a demo. But in the usual PSN fashion, no demo whatsoever. Screw them.

I think in this case it is because the whole game is so small a demo would be giving the whole game away.

Jeez people, did you guys even buy games before network games became available?

I believe that if you liked Flow, Everday Shooter, and the PixelJunk series, you are going to like Flower. These games are the perfect way to remind from a day of classes.

Wow. I posted that at the gym on my iPhone. I never had a problem with the virtual keyboard, but more and more I'm hitting the enter button instead of the space button, and comments like that happen. Just wow. Maybe I'll get the BlackBerry Javelin when it comes out.

Not really. There are 6 levels and they're surprisingly large - They could make a demo of just half a level and it'd be enough.

@ Levi, the PSN does have demos, but not the across the board like XBLA. I have found myself frustrated multiple times that I game I was curious about had no demo on the PSN. Before the marketplace update, it was double frustrating, as if there was a demo, it was often hard to find.

I'm grabbing Flower tonight. A relaxing game that looks great too sounds like a nice alternative to the normal fighting and killing of pretend life.

The reviews are coming across pretty positive - Even Giant Bomb gave it 5/5!

Although I bought it with my wife in mind (she loves flowers), I had a lot of fun with it. The game play so far is more reminiscent of a flight simulator... but it's quite beautiful to watch too!

Looks like i can't buy flOwer because my PSN account won't let me add a credit card...I'm extremely pissed, I wanted to experience it.....Anyone know why its not letting me add a card?

You have to enter it exactly as it appears on your statement. If it's even the tiniest bit different it won't work.

I did that...double checked 5 times and tried 2 different cards. It just says "You cannot update this information, please check your account"

It was really picky about how I entered my apartment number. I got it eventually though. You just have to keep trying different combinations. They really sure look into fixing that.

I had the same problem, all you have to do is wait 24 hours and it should work. Hope this helps!

Wait 24 hours, then try to enter your credit card info and it should work....didn't think my last comment was clear enough.

I had problems when I tried to buy my first PSN game a while back, because my card was registered at my old address and I had just moved. If you happened to have moved recently, just put in your old address and it will work. If not, good luck dude. Card problems piss me off big time, but then again, I've never had my data stolen, so at least I can be thankful of that.

I had problems entering a credit card at first too, but I think the reason was was that I put a space after every grouping of numbers (as it appears on my card). Putting all the numbers together fixed things for me if I remember correctly

Go to best buy and pick up a PSN card if your CC won't work.

@Baby J Penn: Don't they only sell $20 cards (i live in New York, thats all I've seen) Because I don't want to spend $20 to buy a $10 game....That'll leave me with somewhere around $9 left after tax and there's nothing else on the PSN that interests me for that price :/

Mine did that too and for some reason when I put in my address withOUT my apt number it worked perfectly...careful though..everytime you try it it temporarily subtracts 1 dollar from your account

Yes, I was saying before I need a demo of Flower before I can know if I like it. It really looks like a game you have to try, because videos just aren't doing it for me.

me either. i think it looks interesting but i dont want to waste $10 on something i dont like....especially with my new found lack of funds due to my supplies for college being super expensive this semester
