Fans of the popular TCG and cartoon series, Chaotic, will get a much cheaper alternative when Activision releases their video game version of the card game. Combining action, role-playing, and turn-based elements, Chaotic will feature "vibrant, fully-realized 3D environments" and "various characters from the best-selling trading card game and hit animated series." Players can also look forward to "dramatic tactical battles, a variety of captivating gameplay modes, as well as powerful upgrades and valuable unlockables."
Chaotic will be available for the DS, Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3 this fall.

I'm aware of this game's existence, but I've never actually seen it being played.....does it actually compete with the likes of Yu-Gi-Oh? I just don't see it.

I have absolutely no idea how the TCG plays, but in the show, the characters fight as their monsters (since you brought up Yugioh, I'm assuming the words "Digimon Season 4" won't go over your head), with the monsters's base strength, one-use power-ups, and players' skill factoring into who wins a series of battles (and therefore, the match). Personally, if they could pull that off in a video game, I think it'd be better than a digital card game. *cough* Then again, looking at the platform list, who am I kidding?

Yeah well for some reason I read it as Blizzard publishing, and then I looked at the pics and I though it may have been a comic book spinoff of Warcraft. Obviously when I actually looked it isn't but that's the subconscious immediate impression I got.
