My question is when the patch is coming out that fixes exploits in the 360 version, the PC version was patched over a month ago!

When Valve pays Microsoft roughly 1 million dollars. I'm serious.
And THAT is why you buy the Steam versions of your games (TF2 is a prime example)

You mean you're going 'ATI' from now on. Good call!. I highly recommend the HD4850 if you are on a budget, preferably in the 1Gb flavour. I have the 512mb HD4850 and with 4Gb ram and 6000+ AMD X2 Cpu can i can run Crysis on all High settings 1440x900 2x AA and very smooth. Obviously, every other game i've throw at it runs maxed out.

It's a Geforce 8500 512 mb. The fan went out and fried it. Freak accident I guess. It's covered, but it's a pain in the ass to keep switching cards. I do like the driver that comes with it, but I need something better anyway.

They're 50 now? It was about 180 when I got it. It was an upgrade from the stock 6100 I had. Never could get Halo to run right on the 8800 though. Way too choppy. But Halflife 2 would run great with the settings maxed. I think I'll just wait for windows7 to come out and update my CPU as well. Everything will be cheaper by then too.

I've heard so much good stuff about this game and i want to get it, tho not at full retail price as Mad World and other games are draining my gaming budget. As a big Steam fan and a real want to try this game, can anyone here talk me into buying it at this price. Is there a demo on steam?

Now that I've got my new PC (just got it last Friday), I can finally get this game. I guess Valve felt sorry for me and is offering it at a nice discount. OK, maybe not, but I'll accept their generosity anyway.

Thanks, Valve!

Oh, and if anyone is curious, here's the specs:
Intel Core i7 2.66 GHz, 6GB DDR3 1600, Radeon HD4870 1GB, ASUS Xonar D2X, ASUS P6T6 WS Revolution, 300GB WD 10000rpm, Corsair 620W PSU all housed in an Antec 1200 case. Also managed to salvage the HDDs and DVD burner from my old build.

I got the Antec 1200 case as well, its interesting to see its very well built, has a lot of fans, obviously a high-end case but they don't put in basics like a cheap PC speaker or power indicator light, ah I'm just nitpicking. I think its the only case I've seen with external fan speed control switches. : )

Yeah, it's an excellent case. I like how the side panel behind the motherboard has space in there for cable management. Also like the drive bays being removable and with thumb screws! And it's a huge plus that the fans can be cranked up all the way and still run nice and quiet considering how much air it's moving.

I hear ya on the PC speaker. It's nice to have when something goes wrong. All it takes is one little beep code to tell you exactly what's wrong with your system when it won't even POST.

I'm sure you can buy a cheap PC speaker to attach to the motherboard though and glue the other end to the case. I want the PC speaker just for the nostalagia of playing my old DOS games in PC speaker, oh the memories! XD

I wonder why Antec omitted it. I like the choice of moving the PSU location to the bottom to accomodate the massive fan at the top.

I'm miffed right now because I bought all my parts for my build two weeks ago, I got a GTX 285 for $379.99 at my local Frys Electronics and now my local Microcenter has the GTX 295 for only $439.99 just $60 more. : (

Yeah, that always happens when you buy PC parts. You get the best part you can afford, then someone shows up with a decent deal for something even better. And it's almost always a video card.

It's like getting kicked in the balls, no matter how much it happens, the pain is always just as bad.

Okay, I've been wondering this question for a very long time. If I purchase Left 4 Dead for my PC, do I need to pay to play online? Like microsoft? Or is Steam free to play online like the Ps3? Also, I'm asking this question because when I downloaded the Dawn of War 2 beta, it wouldn't let me play unless I had a Xbox live gold account. So what do I need to do to be able to play Left 4 Dead online and games for windows online?

Steam games are 100% free to play online. The DoW2 beta should be too. Don't know why it wouldn't be, GFW Live is 100% free now too.

But when I made a games for windows account and tried to sign in, it wouldn't let me it said something about me not having internet, when I clearly was because I was playing my ps3. Also it said something about me not having a gold account or silver account or something.

There is (to my knowledge) no such thing as a Gold Account for GFW. You jest need to set up an account to play the DOW2 beta and the account is free.

"it wouldn't let me it said something about me not having internet"

This could be a firewall issue. If you're behind a router, you may want to look up what ports you need to forward to get GFW Live working. Alternately, if you don't mind the gaping security hole, you can just enable UPnP on your router.

Don't I just set up a account on GFW and sign in on that account in DOW2? Or do I need to make a DOW2 account, then I can play? Sorry about this, but I'm new to PC gaming and have just started. I've been drooling over L4D for a long time.

through the DOW2 beta, you can set up a GFW account. It took me about 2 min from start to finish. There is no DOW account.

If you already have an Xbox Live account, you can use that name instead of setting up a new account.
