A very good price (£13.49), but it's still not low enough to get a non-co-op gamer such as myself to try it. Perhaps if they did one of those free weekends they sometimes do on Steam.

I did exactly that and it didn't work, I wonder why. I'm going to try to buy L4D and see if it'll work, do I sign in using a Steam account?

Yes, just log on to your Steam account and you're good to go.

Okay this is the problem I'm trying to explain, each time I try to sign into my live account while trying to get into Dawn of War 2, it gives me this message "Error, Live Service maybe be unavailable, it may be an issue with home networking equipment or firewall. Then I check my network status and it says "Internet IP address: Not Signed in, PC account: Not Signed in, UpNp: Not Signed in." This is the problem that I don't understand.

It doesn't sound like a problem with Steam. If you can buy games and download them, then you are already signed into Steam, and everything on that end will work correctly.

It sounds like you will need to contact some sort of customer service or search on the DOW2 forum (they probably have one) or a GFW forum.

I'll quote what Zetross said earlier

'"it wouldn't let me it said something about me not having internet"'

This could be a firewall issue. If you're behind a router, you may want to look up what ports you need to forward to get GFW Live working. Alternately, if you don't mind the gaping security hole, you can just enable UPnP on your router."

The beta is still active. I logged in and out quickly just to check.

Will I need to do any of this for L4D?

probably not.

Again, if the Steam application is running right now and you can download things, you can also play things

Well, thanks for the help you've been great! I guess I'm not going to be playing any GFW, but I'll definitely be picking up L4D.

Only way I could not love Valve right now is if I was a PS3 owner but I'm not anymore. : )

Perhaps $5.00 too much if it was brand new. Game is worth $20 max.

I paid 50 for it and I'm happy with it. I think it was well worth it.

Yeah, in Nvidia's old way of naming things, the (generation number)800 is the proper one, the (gen)600 is a cut down version for people on a budget, and anything below that is garbage.

I picked this up through some elaborate usage of a visa gift card and an old paypal account. Totally worth the effort. This sale was just too cheap to pass up.
