Overall, the episode was pretty poor, which was shocking since Justin is correct, he's usually gold on SNL throughout. This sketch was really good, especially for me since my girlfriend actually just bought Shake-It this weekend. Baldwin's expressions are just priceless. "Oh, you're mother would be a natural at this!"

Also, I do happen to enjoy the "FIX IT!" bit on Weekend Update, although by and large I don't much care for that guy.

If I remember right NBC likes to pull its SNL stuff off of youtube because they are using Hulu. So if they put a youtube video here in the story, its link may go dead and you would be mad that the link doesn't work. So, lets give them a break.

Alec Baldwin, a savior? Don't give this guy TOO much credit. I mean c'mon, would 30 Rock be the same if Tina Fey and Tracy Morgan weren't on it? How much could he REALLY contribute, much less save?

Dude...Tina Fey is NOT FUNNY on 30 Rock (or anything else in front of the camera). The show wouldn't be the same without her doing her thing behind the scenes, but she is a terrible actor/comedienne.

Tracy Morgan, Jane Krakowski, and Jack McBrayer are hilarious.

What Alec Baldwin does, though, is pure f**king comedy genius.

@Gordon: That is your opinion. Tina Fey is quite great. She is really good and doing awkward moments very well. So to say she is not funny, is ridiculous as well as to say she is a bad actor/comedian. Not saying she is the best on the show (you are right there with Alec Baldwin) but she IS really good. Plus, shes the best comedy writer of our current time I think. Then again, this is all opinions here.

Are you kidding me? Alec Baldwin is one of the best things on 30 Rock.

Tracy Morgan on the other hand is just annoying. His shtick in the first few episodes was funny, but now he's just an irritating character. I'll take Tina Fey and Alec over him any day. She's a great writer too.

The only Baldwin I like is Steven Baldwin because he's somewhat normal, but I have to admit Alec Baldwin does hilarious skips on SNL (in fact, the only ones that are any good). The Schweddy Balls skit, the Cub Scout scene (where his character tried to seduce Adam Sandler's character), and now this one. Funny as hell.

From his Wiki

"Stephen is an avid hat lover and is said to possess over 30,000 hats.

He has a tattoo on his left shoulder of the initials "HM" for Hannah Montana. His daughters are fans of Hannah Montana, and he got the tattoo after making a pact with Miley Cyrus that he would be allowed to cameo on the show if he had the initials tattooed on him. He revealed the tattoo to Miley at a book signing in Nashville, TN on November 10, 2008.[16]"

Very normal.

hahaha! you win!

also, isn't stephen the jesus-freak who made those "XTREEEEEEME!!!" skateboarding/worship videos? that, along with the hats and HM tat disqualify him from ever being considered "normal."

For some reason my response to Dirty's comment didn't show up, so I'll post it again.

A guy who has an innocent hobby of collecting hedwear and put a tattoo on his arm of Hannah Montana's initials and made an appearance Miley Cyrus' show TO MAKE HIS KIDS HAPPY is quite normal compared to another Baldwin who curses his own daughter out over a cellphone because she happened to be too busy to answer his first call, or another Baldwin who stole someone's SUV and paid his way out of being charged with Grand Theft Auto because of his star power and his money.

Is sad when a tv show steals a joke from the internet, next thing we know SNL will have a pedobear skit.

I've been guffawing at this since yesterday afternoon. It's so stupid, and the basic joke's so contrived now, but it's one of the funniest SNL skits I've seen in a while. The fact that they didn't drag it out probably helps too. Short, stupid, and to the point. I dig it.

The waggle in the pants idea is surprisingly late, but there were more jokes out of that than I expected.

"Can I use my other hand? It feels like someone else is playing!" LOL.

I give SNL props for even using a REAL game. I freakin HATE it when shows and movies make up retarted looking fake games. Does anyone know if those were real sound effects from the game? (haven't played it yet myself)

yeah but they did 2 things that really annoy me:

1. Called it "Wario Shake"

2.Even though we can put a man on the moon (ALLEGEDLY) we still can't refrain from characterizing playing a game by using bad sound effects that would sound out of place on an Atari 2600. Hell, even Roseanne did an episode about the SNES and used actual sounds from Super Mario World. And to be honest, the sound effect used when shaking a bag of coins is pretty generic and could probably have been slipped in unnoticed
