How times have changed. Today's news that Burnout Paradise's upcoming Legendary Cars pack will be arriving on consoles this Thursday, February 19th, comes directly from Criterion games via Twitter. Not a press release or forum announcement in sight. Need more proof that we're living in the future? How about flying cars in Paradise City? That's just one of the new vehicles available in the Legendary Cars pack, all of which are based on famous fictional vehicles.
There's no word on pricing yet. Perhaps Criterion will be kind enough to tweet that info before the pack releases on Thursday. Check out the gallery below for more images of these Legendary Cars.
[Thanks, Rahul]

There will be a bundle where you can buy all the Legendary cars together. I think it will also be cheaper than buying them separately.

There's that word again, "heavy". Why are things so heavy in the future? Is there a problem with the earth's gravitational pull?
On another note, I picked this game up on eBay for $17 and I can't wait to jump in. I can't believe how much DLC has been thrown at this game, free or paid. If more games did this (and soon after launches), I think we'd see a lot more support for big and small titles.
I'm very happy with this company.

This is awesome, but I rarely load up Burnout anymore, so I doubt I'll get it.
Still an amazing game with brilliant support.

What I love is how many trophies are for this game as this pack adds an extra 9 trophies giving a total of 80 and this game rocks! especially online! Can't wait for the flying car

Criterion Games has a Twitter account? AND I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THIS SOONER?
My fault. To be honest, though I love Burnout Paradise more than I could love any racing game, I haven't even seen/listened to Crash FM/TV/whatever it's called. That's why I'm excited to find they have a Twitter account. It's the easiest, most harmless way to always stay up-to-date.

I heard this pack might cost around $10, and $2.99 per car. If that's the case only the 88 and the Manhattan Spirit fo me. It should be at most $5.99 for the whole set.

So they have a free pass to charge as much as they want bcause they didn't charge us for previous content? I would think that they would make reasonably priced content if they want to keep the good will. The free content is great, and I really love how they support an older (great) game, but I'm not going to shell over a ton of money afterwards beause they saved me some previously.
Not to mention that I am still kind of new to the series, and I'm not a big fan of racing games (but I LOVE this game for some reason). So I actually bought it quite a while after it was released ( A few months off the $20 pric tag :( ) I really can't explain wh I love this game so much... Ok, enough random thoughts. Make it $5.99 for the pack!!!!

Yeah, I just bought the game after the last update and couldn't find restart option for the life of me. They could have put it somewhere obvious like I don't know the freaking pause menu! The D-pad implementation is awkward but at least they listened to the community and put it in.

Man I really need to pick this game up some time. I'm amazed that EA is letting Criterion do all this.

No it's a stunt car which is why i'll enjoy that car so much. It seems that when you pop up the wheels , you'll basically have like soft landings doing stunts.
Funny the car is 2 dollars more than the rest though, i think they expected this to be the most popular though.

It doesnt you can pick the game up from as little as $20 minus the new Ultimate Box Pack.
Everyone needs to watch this as the other Boost Special which is the New Hawker has some in game footage but it's blurry since it's on a 3D Screen the art work on the car is brilliant!

This game is so amazing...and this will make it all the sweeter!!!
Keep bringing on the advancements and upgrades because Criterion, you have made a phenomenal game; I haven't been so addicted to a racing game since NFS: Hot Pursuit 2.

Quit calling it a flying car. I'm not going to put EDIT at the beginning of the post, because its just a little verbiage discrepancy I have, and not nearly as bad as Game Informer saying there was airplanes (already) in the game in the most recent issue. (I know they were considering putting airplanes, but it seems I heard Criterion shelved it for now. Please take it off the shelf, put airplanes in, a dog fight mode, and cops and robbers, and why not the original Crash mode everyone is clamoring for, man that would piss off other game dev's).
Off my point though. The car is a hovering car isn't it? Not a flying car. There is a difference. And I'm only basing that on the video link that was posted. If it can fly, I'll happily chop off my tongue and run it over with a Delorean.
Not that that will do you guys any good. I'm keeping my fingers. Those are my money makers baby.

And what happened to my avatar, or blogger pic, or Joystii or whatever the F*** you call those on here? Is this the same as replies mysteriously showing up as stand alone comments or taking five hours to show up on the board? Will it come back out of nowhere if I go to bed and chant joystiq in a bad South African accent as I drift into digitized nightmares?
