By now you're probably tired of reading about slick Hollywood-based video game launch parties attended by C-list celebrities and wannabes who probably game about as much as your grandma. Capcom finally got it right by opening up the Street Fighter IV party to the public. The only problem was that so many people showed up for the event that the fire marshal ended up restricting access, and a lot of people went home without getting their game on.
For those of you who didn't make it to the Geffen Museum Street Fighter Takeover in downtown Los Angeles, we offer up the gallery below from the event. There were tons of console stations where you could play the game, imported versions of the SFIV Japanese arcade game, a Street Fighter Club rumble pit, a "museum" full of Street Fighter products from over the years, Street Fighter arcade cabinets painted by different artists, plenty of people in costumes, and of course, game producer Ono-san.

When I think my time spent in college, I think of all the good times spent playing SF2 with my friends.
Nothing better than being intoxicated, screaming and yelling at your friends, and having naughty thoughts about Chun-Li at two in the morning!
Thank you Capcom! (and to a lesser extent, U.N.L.V.)

I have a funny story about this. A friend of mine is a massive SF fan (I am not). I saw the PS blog thing where you can send your name to get on the list. So I told him about it, figuring he would like to go, but he said "no, I never win this kind of stuff" but I just kept pushing him to do it. Finally he relented and sent an email. The next day he sent me a message over AIM with the email saying his name is on the list to get in, but he logged off right after he sent the message so I didn't get a chance to talk to him. The next day I talked to him and asked how it was. Apparently he didn't go because he would be out too late for work (4 AM) and he was going to stay up late the next night to go see Friday the 13th. I just called him a dumbass.

What was f**kin stupid about this was, what was the use of sending in an email and then getting an INVITE, when every other smelly bastard got in without one?!? Hopefully, if anything else like this goes down in the future, they will stick to INVITES ONLY...And yes, those dudes stunk!! I was there in a crowd of them, dirty bastards should bathe more than they do gaming. Maybe thats why they werent there with any hott chicks...just their smelly pals.

You and me both. I know I said this but, especially when they smell like they have taken a damn shower in weeks.

It was soooo packed... They wouldn't let us in until some people came out... Adam Sessler 5 feet away from me... and ohh yea Ono gaving autographs.. I think the best thing was they gave copies of SF4 to the crowd(whoever got the raffle or who ever was loudest...)
