Rumor: Virtua Tennis 2009 for Wii to support WiiMotion Plus

Sega may be soon walking onto the court with an extra spring in its step, as TechRadar UK reports that the recently announced Wii version of Virtua Tennis 2009 will ship with support for WiiMotion Plus. Citing an anonymous source, the site writes that the game will be among the first third-party titles to support the new controller tech, which promises to boost the Wii remote's sensitivity to motion. We remain interested in seeing what developers do with WiiMotion Plus once it's introduced, though Sega has yet to announce any plans for supporting the souped-up controls when Virtua Tennis hits a backspin for retail in May.

Does this means we could have the motion plus in the following 2 months?

Wii Sports Resort release date is quoted as Q2 2009: April, May, June. So even if it's not out by the time Virtua Tennis is, it won't be long after.
I don't see any necessary connection between the dates, i.e. presumably Sega have the developer version of the accessory, they don't need to wait for a release of the retail one in order to support it.

Sure, it doesn't need to have a conection, but it's something that is not clear for me: if Sega's title - and other releases - will use the motion plus in a mandatory or in a optional way. I was thinking it would be the case of the former. If it's the later, if we can still enjoy the new titles even without the accessory, well, even better.

My guess is that pretty much any title except Sports Resort/sequels and maybe some WiiWare titles that use MotionPlus, it will be optional, at least for the foreseeable future (and probably permanently until next console generation - even if Nintendo do, before that, build MotionPlus into all new remotes or something).
Kind of like the balance board titles are all optional-support - and that's with nine million balance boards sold. There won't be nine million MotionPlus remotes in May.

It's the obvious decision, but it all depends on Nintendo releasing information about the peripheral's release date, in which, as always, they are deficient. Q1 is now half gone, and their Q2 hasn't been revealed.
Of course, they didn't reveal their Q1 until sometime in January anyway.
Lack of Motion Plus seems to have hurt Mario Power Tennis, from some reports
