Wait... $15 for "scorched earth" and/or "cannon fodder?" A game from the 80s?

I mean, don't get me wrong, it looks great, and the game has always been a classic (no matter what the name is), but $10 or less might be more acceptable.

Hm.

Scorched Earth was an awesome game from the 80s, but it was free. Maybe we'll see a decently priced remake in the community games.

1200 points is robbery. Microsoft really needs to standardize all of its arcade prices already--this is driving me nuts! I see stuff like this and wonder why I don't just go back and download Xevious or something.

They are standardizing.

The standard: If a hot title sells well at $5 higher than their previous few hot titles, make that the typical asking price.

I love XBLA, and I think some of the expensive releases are completely worth the price of admission (Castle Crashers and Braid), but some of this shit is getting ridiculous.

Yay, Scorched Earth!
I guess if they would have actually named the game 'Scorched Earth' I would buy it for 1200. Ah, what am I saying - I'll undoubtedly end up grabbing this game. Although I would love to see Scorched3D on XBLA... ( http://www.scorched3d.co.uk/ )

8-player online is a nice touch, too.

Lol you people who have never played the original Death Tank and are talking out of your asses. There is no flash game with this gameplay, it's nothing like Scorched Earth or Cannon Fodder. You people complain about game prices and then buy shitty ass Afro Samurai or Wii games over titles like this? I'll admit $15 is probably a little high for the amount of time most people will play the game, but so many people buy worse games for more, you have NO right to complain at all.

BTW, the main way this one is different from Scorched Earth? This one isn't turn based, but maybe if you watched any of the videos or knew anything at all you wouldn't need me to tell you.

Wow, a Scorched Earth remake? Cool, I loved that game! The only thing that could have possibly made this more awesome is if it was developed by Afro Samurai and it was for the Wii.

First off, to say it is nothing like Scorched Earth is asinine. The original Death Tank was a bonus game in the Sega Saturn version of PowerSlave. That was in 1996 and it was based on Scorched Earth, very obvious, which came out in the dos era, 1991. Scorched earth is the archetype for games like this, the developers can make changes (i.e. real time instead of being turn-based, or flying tanks which is stupid) but that does not change the fact that the idea came from Scorched Earth, the original. Seeing as though you have the internet you should look up your facts before writing a post for the general public to see.

Is Afrom Samurai shitty?,I was going to buy it but I dunno I don't feel like paying full price it or you are just expressing your delusion of superiority?

Anyhow looks cool and everything but I guess it doesn't appeals to me.I have a bunch of arcade games I have to finish first but it doesn't looks bad for 1,200p.

I am getting really tired of seeing the same comment over and over again....

"15 DOLLARS!!!! What a rip off."

Have you played the game? How do you translate fun to a dollar amount?

People are buying extra content for some game for 10 dollars multiple time. And if you add it up your game could cost in the upwards of 80 dollars. Why can't a new game on the arcade be at least 1/3 of the cost of a normal retail game?

I am not going to make any sort of judgment of the game until I at least try out the trail demo...that is why they are there for right? This game looks fun, you should at least try the demo...or is free to expensive for you?

Thank you. You're exactly right. I think people might have a right to complain if 360 disk games started to cost $100 at retail, but $15 is cheaper than most games and it seems like the game will be more enjoyable than most as well.

It's really annoying reading these complaints about the price.

If this was a really successful DS title for $15 marked down from $30 at target or best buy this week, there would be no complaints. I'd love to have this on the DS for $15 but having it on the 360 for $15 is just as good.

$15 for hours and hours of fun classic gaming is alot more rational than $60 for mediocre shovel ware.

What is it with these 15$ games? The only way I'll buy them is if there above and beyond what a 10$ would give me in terms of quality levels. Braid, SF2THDR & SoTN are those games. I would buy this Tank game if they just made it the good' ol 10$ price mark. But as it stands, nah.

Those of you thinking this 1200 point game is a rip off, I own the original Death Tank and STILL play it over and over again. This game is/was one of the best mulitplayer games made. Scorched Earth but remade in to something that's more multiplayer frenetic oriented. Nothing plays quite as competitively as Death Tank. You team up, and dissolve truces at the drop of a hat. Just a plain, fun mulitplayer game. Simple as that.

Yes finally! Looking forward to this game. This is what the xbox really needs, fast online games for up to 8 people.Quick and dirty style rounds. I've been looking for a Scorced Earth clone thats online multiplayer for a long time.

1200 MSP is a no brainer for a good game. How many hours of fun do you recon it is? Take your girlfriend to the movies and compare it to that. Looking forward to bombing you on live!!! :)

The fact that its not turn based doesnt have to be a turn off. The people who has played both Scorced and Death Tank Zwei actually say that they prefer it beeing not turn based.

And regards to the demo, this is a live game, im thinking the demo doesnt really give you the feeling of the game.

This game has FREE multiplayer in the Demo so you can try it and see if you really think it's worth it or not.

My guess, If you play MULTIPLAYER you will buy it. It's insanely fun.

R-Type Dimensions = $15 Nope, not paying this new inflated price for old game.

Death Tank = $15 Nope, not paying this new inflated price for old game.

Sadly, I had planned on buying both these little shooters, but I will not support this.
