Indeed. My brother and I played co-op on that game countless times when we were young.

No kidding, just started hearing the music in my head when I saw the article.

Gotta love the skull boss where the eyes float around. I always had to remind myself not to overdo it on the speed boosts...

Yeah, I wonder if the classic code works in this one?

Yeah, Life Force was a hoot. My more-well-off friend had an NES about 8-10 months before me, and the first two games he had were SMB and Life Force, so we played the hell out of it. Always had to use the Konami Code to finish it though.

Loved the level layout/themes though. Music was cool too, especially the boss music.

Markez's post is the arcade version, here's the NES one:

I preferred the NES music, even though it sounded simpler.

So has JoyTendo stopped giving reviews of the VC and WiiWare games released? Just a short blurb at the end of the already short descriptions would us weed out the bad, especially on the WiiWare stuff.

Apparently Commodore 64 games will be out on Wii soon. Commodore is a town along Route 286 in PA and Route 64 is the road that goes between AZ and NC.

And the Commodores sang Brick House. And Vanderbilt's mascot is the Commodores.

Good catch.

Still, the Arizona reference caused me to make this leap:

Arizona - city in AZ? Tuscon - Twoson - why are they teasing me with an Earthbound release?

Although laid out like that, I guess the C64 stuff from ****** makes sense.

Hm, I'm considering buying Life Force just for the historical value. As a shooter fan I'd feel bad with it lacking from my collection (although frankly, I don't think I've yet played an NES shmup I liked).

Nah, it had too many expanding obstacles etc. The Gradius series really didn't get good until III.

I'd pick up Life Force, but I'm not sure how I'd feel playing it without my NEW Advantage. There's something to be said about being able to use turbo and slow motion, if one wants to use them.

Any idea of the old Konami Code works for this new VC version?

People are willing to pay $5 for emulated 25 year old games but not $15 for brand new games? Sad.

Depends how good the brand new games are.

Newness doesn't always mean goodness.

I answered my own question. The Konami Code works with the classic controller but I couldn't get it to work with a Gamecube controller or Wavebird.
