I am not to keen on this. I know they gave us a year solid of free stuff, but really that was just bikes, everything else game tweeks. Sure, we all knew that 09 was the year they where going to start charging, but these cars were announced AGES AGO (November)... They should be free. If they wanted to charge for the TOY CARS, and the HOT ROD looking thing, sure I'm on board with it. Because those will not be coming out for WHO knows how long. But for something going this far back, it should be a freebie. Blah... Oh well, Im sure a friend will buy them, and Ill just get them with PSN game share thingy.

Explain to me how $8 is 600 MS Points again?

$10 = 800 MS Points = 80 Points / $
$8 = 640 MS Points

Get your math straight, Joystiq!

Oh, and kudos to EA for bringing this pack in under $10. After the Party Pack was overpriced at $10, I fully expected this pack to come in at $10 as well. $8 seems reasonable enough; Day 1 purchase for me.

Normally I would buy this just to show support for a cool company. However, I'm having to think about pinching pennies, and this carpal tunnel BS is slowing my work rate down, so... we'll see. I need to make a bit of a dent in my credit card bill before I start buying cars for a game.

I funny how EA and Criterion fooled everyone with their "free DLC campaing" last year.. Pfff. Please, who are you fooling? Not me for sure. They got us good early out selling 75% of the game at $60.. (yea $60) The they give us what??? 2 BS cars that can only be used when online???, Day/night and some 3 fucking motor bikes that you fly through the challenges in 1 day.. Or yea and trophies.. (Something that is not even considered as DLC) Now with this illusion, they was to screw us with a $10 pack that lets you pass the controller around :/ and now $4 for 1 car??? Are you serious??

Next thing I'm expecting is for them to sell us the other 25% of the game (Big surf Island) for like the price of what the game cost know? No thanx.. Get crash mode back in here and make races on set course, not this 1 wrong turn and the race is over BS.. Then y'all see my $$$$$$$$$$$$$.

"fooled you" with FREE new features?

I really feel bad for some of you guys who think $8 is a lot of money. I can't get a decent app at Applebee's for that and you guys complain that Criterion is sending you to the poor-house for all the new content they've added.

I don't think anyone should feel compelled to "support" Criterion by buying this DLC with the poor, starving game developers in mind. I feel content knowing that I've supported the firm by having bought the game off the local game store's shelves.

Man, I could live with $1.99 each, but $3.99 is way overpriced. I was only interested in the Delorean and had no intention of buying the others, so the bundle price is not a bargain. I'm going to pass on this, what a disappointment. Bring on the island, not more cars and a party mode.

And I know some tool is going to try to bring up how the pack isnt EXACTLY the same price of a Big Mac combo but they are roughly the same price. I don't know anyone can argue Burnout:Paradise isn't an excellent value.

At $60, you got over 40 hours of gameplay (getting your 100%) and you got an excellent online mode. Then later, you got free motorbikes (another 5 hours of gameplay). And they relit the entire world so they could do night mode. Remember back when the Project Gotham Racing team said they couldn't possibly put day and night for their courses on the same disc? Criterion not only put day and night in for an entire huge city, but they patched it in in a

Apparently joystiq hates less than symbols.

(continued)
less than 1G download. every time of day in between also, and on top of that some days it is foggy!

Maybe you don't like the party pack. Maybe $8 for 4 cars is too high. But this doesn't mean the game isn't a good deal. Just don't buy them.

And when the island comes out, I'll buy it (unless it splits the online community), even though I figure it to be about $10-$12. And I'll be thrilled.

I personally got over 60 hours of play getting my 101% and some online, and 9 months later I went back and happily did it again. I got my money's worth easy.

One thing Criterion, please fix the save game analyzer. At least as of a week before the 1.6 patch, it seemed to suffer because you had changed your save game format (perhaps with the bikes patch?) and thus would show bogus locations you still need.

Jezer are you kidding me? How can you act like your entitled to DLC. I thought the game was awesome when I purchased it. I love tearing up the roads and racing online. When the new content can along it only added to an already great game. But your saying this was all a plot to what? hold back on some of the game in order to offer free download later? Why? what did they gain from that? They released the game with all of the content at the same price a year later. I don't see how that gained them anything.

I can't believe you've decided that the game was incomplete and they did this to what? get paid for content this year? They could have charge us for everyone of those DLCs. They could have held off and created Burnout Paradise 2009 and charge us another $60 for the upgrade like all the sports titles do? Madden 09 should have been DLC to 08. But EA sees some sports fans will shell it out every year. Did you think of that?

If your looking for set courses tough titty!! Its a sandbox game! You have a choice of any direction you want. The game is unique in that you learn the streets like a real street racer. if you know a shortcut or a super jump that will get you ahead of the pack that's the idea. Now they want some petty cash for this years new content. I say petty cause in video games $7.99 is a steal. And what are you talking about bring crash mode back. Its called Showtime mode now. Read the instructions!!!!!

Yeah, I think I'm okay with it.

I guess Criterion should have just used all of this free dlc and put it into a new Burnout and charged another $60.

@ Why should whatever, no one is complaining about the price, I have daily habits that cost me more than $8.. The most of you young dudes are playing this series for the 1st time and think that its the shit.. When to a hardcore fan like myself, who's played the game the series from the beginning can tell you that I had waaaaay more fun playing Take down and Revenge than this current burnout.. It was way more addictive then what it is now.. This game is cool but nothing competitive about it, its become a hangout spot for you and your friends and only that.. Who can honestly say here that you have fun with this game without your friends as far as online??? You don't, you get a bunch a fools who don't do the challenges and are more interested in taking you down while your trying to set up a game.. Tell me, who races in this game??? Only the cheating fools who put up a map of a straight away and use the F1 racer.. Yea we're really having fun folks..

Like I said Criterion changed this game from being a competitive racer to a game where you just chill with the buds and do stunts..

I never played any previous Burnout online.

I find Burnout Paradise to be better in general than the previous Burnouts. The only thing I miss is crash mode.

If you don't like people setting up weird races, can't you just run ranked races only instead?

Ultimately, if you are getting by the PCPD (F1 car), perhaps the solution is to earn the PCPD yourself? It still won't make drag races fun, but at least you can stand a chance in them and then can leave the game and go to another after the end of the race.

Gee, thanks for the review.

None of which has anything to do with you bitching about the prices and how they were trying to "fool you" with free DLC in your previous posts. And if you don't like the game, why would you even consider the Legendary Pack or Big Surf Island? It's still the same game. Duh!

Don't like the game? Sell it. The end.

BTW, does all the gray text clue you in to anything? Let me help. It means your comments are dumb in the opinion of the other readers including myself.

I just beat the F1 yesterday and I was using the GT Flame. Bottom line is the player still has to run a perfect race to blow you away. I cut through a back way and caught him on a big turn and t-boned him into oblivion and I ran away with the race.

And really, I could just earn the F1 for myself if I'm that upset, or better yet, set up 'Calvary only' races.

A hardcore fan would at least give credit to a developer that continues to support it's games long after their release whether you personally like the game or not.

You need to take Criterion's dick out your mouth.. I give them credit for what they did, Im just not going to say like their Gods cause their not, just cause the shit was free doesn't exclude the fact that the game came out $60 and was dropped to $40 like in 2 or 3 months (Why??) They know what they was doing, they milked it all based on the release hype, then came out with this "its free DLC" so no one bitch to the fact that wait the game is $40, so where's the $60 game (full game).. Oh wait, never mind, I just entertain myself with these bikes in the meantime, Criterion you rock!

Thanx for the advice why not the LS2 but I have all the cars, Im at 102% and have the platium paint job ;).. All Im saying is that Criterion, EA and the media (internet) as done a well job on fooling people with smoke and mirrors, to now nickel and dime us and buy them time before they release the full game this year. Seriously, 2 online cars, 3 motorcycles and day/night.. Thats it.. No new maps, courses or modes..

Do the math
$10 - To pass the controller around
$8 - to just hover and reminisce on the ghostbusters and Knightrider..
$??? - Big surf Island (if their charging you $10 to pass the controller around, I could imagine what their going to charge for their 1st actual, new DLC..)

People honestly don't see it... of course they gave stuff for free so that we buy these ridiculous DLC of them. I draw my words in about other developers should take an example of Criterion Games, Criterion should take an example from other developers like Naughty Dog... They create a game and start working on a new one instead of ripping us off with cheap contents. As long that extra Island isn't there, they're not gonna get a penny out of me. Already paid full price for the game last year and after a year I have quite enough of the game.
