If what your saying is true it was your own fault.

Just ask Zero Corpse. You didn't read the manual.

This thread is pretty much dead.

It's a thread about the 360's RROD issues. Did anyone expect a civil conversation? You have the Xombies on the offensive trying to humiliate anyone with a different point of view. Then, you have idiots from the PS3 side stirring up stuff where there shouldn't be drama.

The fact is that the RROD sucks and it's still a relevant issue. Hopefully we can all get past it one day.

All I'm going to say is just imagine if the shoe was on the other foot. If you think this is bad just go look at any pre-release Killzone 2 article. This is nothing compared to that BS.

Microsoft is such a terrible company when it comes to caring about their customers....remember they never take a "financial risk". Or at least that is how Balmer put it in a recent interview.

You know what Microsoft you can burn in hell for bringing out a system you knew was faulty. I've had my console RROD of me multiple times...every single one of my friends systems is RROD and they just bought new ones. I'm planning on buying another just to play SF4. I hate the fact that the games are so good and the system is so weak. BIGGEST EPIC FAILURE EVER!! Microsoft I can't even give you a big enough middle finger to justify how I fell about you and every one of your crappy products...that includes every piece of hardware you make and every piece of software. I hate everything that comes from you. I love apple computers and their software just to piss you off a little bit more. F@ck you Microsoft...f@ck you.

By buying another console from MS your telling them you don't have an issue with the hardware. In fact, your telling them its more than acceptable. If you want to give them a middle finger buy a PS3/Wii instead of a 360. Otherwise, you have no right to complain about it.

Baby J Penn why dont you shut the hell up! Wahh wahh dont support them blah blah blah. Dude I have a PS3 and a freaking Wii!!!! Just so happens every single game I want to play is on the xbox360!!!!! There is nothing we can do about this problem because you simply just cant fight microsoft....and I have every damn right to complain all I want about a system who's shelf life is anywhere between 1 day and 1 year...xbox360 is the worst console of all time when it comes to reliability. I have owned consoles for over 25 years and not one....NOT ONE OF MY CONSOLES IS BROKEN!!!!!
I can't even begin to tell you how angry it makes me that they keep pulling this bullshit with every piece of crap they come out with and there is nothing we can do about it.

Damn dude don't throw a temper tantrum. It's not like you will shrivel up and die if you don't play your most favorite games. All I was saying that if you know it's going to break and you still buy it you have only yourself to blame. That would be like having sex with a hooker and catching a horrible STD only to go back to her because she was the best in bed. Maybe it's not a perfect comparison but you see what I mean. Most 360 games release on the PC anyway.

And dude why wahh wahh wahh to me when you were the one BAWing like a toddler. Chill homey. Hopefully you understand you do have a choice and you don't have to eat shit soup just because of some games you want to play. The only way to make MS understand is with your wallet as with any company.

I'm not even saying you shouldn't buy a 360. I am saying that if you already had issues and you willingly fork your money over for another one you can't complain. It's like your a masochist who wants to subject himself to torture. Maybe you'll get lucky and not have any hardware issues. If Mr.Greenberg is to be believed the issues is behind them anyway.

Damn crybaby....

Greenberg seems like a good guy. In discussions, his points are usually valid and better than those of most PR guys. But does anyone else get the urge to squarely punch him up?

i just got the 2 red lights for the first time ever on sunday. i had my elite pretty much since they came out in june '07. i called MS to ask if this was a one time thing of if i should expect my console to RROD on me. i wasn't given a straight answer but was told if it does, i'm out of warranty and it'll cost $99 or $119 to repair it. after asking what ever happened to the 3 year warranty extension for overheating issues, i was put on hold, then she came back and was all "oh yes i'm sorry, you have until june '10 for free repairs on overheating etc etc." now, how could this person not know this? i would assume it's common knowledge with their customer support people as each person probably deals with a few RRODs a day. were they trying to scam me, but backed out cuz i did my homework? hmmm....

btw, what do they do when you send a console in after it RRODs? do they put in the 65nm jasper?

Here is my recent experience with MS; first part was a letter I sent with the console when shipping it back to the service center.

To whom it my concern:

My original console, serial number (Insert S/N), was sent for repair and was in flawless condition, other than the “Three Red Light” problem. The replacement console, serial number (Insert S/N), was sent to me in a condition that was not what I expected:

“Upon receiving the 360 after MS “repaired” the RRoD problem it wobbled front-to-back and left-to-right severely. In addition the power supply port was not aligned with the case opening. I contacted MS customer support and shipped the console back in order to correct those problems. The console was shipped back to me with the exact same problems. Contacted MS customer support and sent the console in a third time to correct the previously mentioned problems. Once again, the console was shipped to me with additional problems. This time it had a missing USB cover and a slight wobble; I was going to live with the wobble till I saw the missing USB cover. Sent the console in again to correct the missing USB cover problem and received it back, once again, with a missing USB cover”.
I would respectfully like to ask for a replacement console, excluding serial number (Insert S/N), that is in the same condition that my original console was in, which was flawless.

Sincerely,

Wade

This has been an ongoing problem since December, over two months and counting. Microsoft’s short sightedness will affect their bottom line in the future. I have three kids, all boys, and we currently have two Live accounts and planed on purchasing two additional accounts; my second oldest kid was promised a live account for his B-Day and the youngest wwould have had one at some point. My two oldest kids have Zune’s and I was planning to purchase one in the near future for myself. That’s all changed since dealing with MS Xbox customer support…at this point I’m contemplating the closing of all Live accounts and not purchasing Xbox/Zune “anything” in the future. In addition, I might sell all of my “360” hardware and software and switch to Linux or nurse my XP OS as longs as I can. Again, the problems MS faces are with its future. My three boys’ will grow up without any MS products in their home and will hear of the horror stories related in dealing with MS products and the related MS customer service.

I could list the convesations I've had with Xbox customer support but that would be to long and to frustrating.

These words? They mean nothing.

Just please, please, please spend the appropriate amount of time in engineering before releasing the next one. The original 360 sounded like a freaking turbine...

yes...one of my 4 XBOX 360s finally RRODed....but the repair process was almost painless......
From the day of my phonecall to the return of the repaired XBOX ELITE unit (Same one...not swapped out for another)......

7 Days.......

I was impressed.

Suffice to say my brother's PS3 just broke......and he's SOL as there is no extended warranty on that.

It amazes me that MS has the audacity to try and brush this off, that "the worst is behind us"

I saved up and bought an Elite back at the end of 2007 because everyone stated that they'd worked on the system and that they were for sure not going to have problems like the old ones did. Great! I was thrilled.

Less than a year later and I got smacked with the great RRoD.

Every day I turn my system on, I expect the same problem. The new system seems louder, seems to run hotter and even though I got a straight replacement, I feel like I've gone down in quality.

My entire experience with MS support was equally horrible. They are the worst company for Customer Service to deal with and it took me complaining to a 3rd party website to get any sort of resolution to my problems. I was treated like a second-class citizen when all I wanted was to know where things stood with my system while it was MIA.

Regardless, I use my 360 more than I ever imagined I would and I have a great social connection with friends that I might not be able to chat with otherwise.

In the end, the 360 is for me. I wish MS would just own up and admit that they created majorly faulty hardware and just try to fix it. It doesn't make business sense to do so, however, and I can understand it.

Sitting alongside a PS3 or the Wii, the 360 just smacks of being rushed out the showroom doors. I really, really wish they'd have waited a few more months, maybe a year, and made something more solid-hardware wise

Ironic to hear some RRoD news this week, since my xbox just red ringed on Saturday. At least Microsoft is footing the bill to repair under the 3 year extended warranty.
