In addition to the 'Challenge Quests' revealed earlier this week, Capcom has shown the first screens of another new mode for Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop: "THE SNIPER" mode. On the face of it, a series of sniper-rifle-based challenges that task Frank with shooting certain targets within a strict time limit -- red birds flying among flocks of blue birds, and zombies attacking people whom you are trying to protect -- sounds like a fun arcade-style addition to the game.
But we cannot support the "Kobun Mask Boom" mission. This mission puts everyone in Servbot helmets, and you must determine which of the wandering Servbot-people are zombies by observing their clothing and behavior. It's not the possibility of shooting innocent people that offends us -- it's the fact that this is almost a minigame about shooting Servbots, and that is not cool. Servbots are wonderful!

So they added a rifle minigame, yet they can't be bothered to add photography to the game???

Oh boo whoo! What are you weak at the knees? There are games out there where you can kill normal people all the time. the Ultimate Spider-Man game had yoiu kill people with Venom to start alive. In each MEtal Gear game you can say that the troops you kill can normal people with families. Don't blur the line in a video game and think you are really taking down a real person. It's people like you that make people like Jack Thompson have the power to do what he does.

Wait, exactly where did he complain about killing people? All he mentioned was the removal of content from the game but still new one being added.

I agree 100% with Magnus. The scope on a rifle gives a round, zoomable view just like a camera. Instead of shooting, the trigger button could take a screen capture. This would require almost no additional programming to implement, unless I'm missing something here. Lazy Capcom. Lazy, lazy lazy!

I googled to get some clarity, but I still don't get the Servebot reference.

Randy.. check out the Misadventures of Tronne Bonne.
How dare they. I would not be able to bring myself to pull the trigger, zombie Servbot or not.

For a moment, I though it was some sort of Lego Dead Rising :p

Really? No clue what a servbot is? I'm not even upset that they may not get an TI994/A reference or [fill in the blank old system] reference, but c'mon. PS1 is not even that old and it was a spin-off of friggin' super popular mega man. Kids these days. I'm getting too old for this $hit :P
