The first big MotorStorm Pacific Rift update patch is now live and available to download. Simply start the game up and the update will begin automatically. As announced, the patch fixes several bugs in the game, including save data corruption and a sneaky Boost exploit. The copy protection has been removed from save files, so you can now back up your saves, just in case they do get corrupted.
The latest PS Blog post also hints at another update coming soon, "which has some very cool new content in it, especially if you have a bit of a penchant for collecting cool stuff, or if you're the type of person who enjoys PS3 Trophies." Nothing more is said, but it sounds intriguing. Looking back on how much DLC the original MotorStorm received, we won't be surprised to see a few more tracks and/or modes heading our way.

About time, releasing a fixed demo before the patch was a huge insult.

I can't say it loud enough, Motorstorm is such an incredible game!
Every time I play it something new and epic always happen. Too bad, there's no way to record those moments besides the photo mode, but here's hoping they continue development and this time make replays available with export to the XMB. That would definitely throw this game to any respectable must-buy list.
Glad for the update anyway :)

Well I just started my game up here in the UK and there's no update. I did, however, recieve an update last month that changed some of the game's aesthetics among other things.... Oh well

WTF are you talking about? You can still save them on PC and they still work. It's just that you can't change accounts

This along with Pure impressed me as a pick up and play type game. However, it doesn't justify a full price purchase for me, when it drops below $40 I will be getting my copy, secretly I'm crossing my fingers for the $29.99, maybe I'll get a used copy >.>

I just picked up a copy at Circuit City. They have 40% all games there, which brings a $60 game down to $37. The 360 section was pretty much cleaned out, but the PS3 section was behind glass so there were still a lot of good picks there. I had to spend 15 minutes tracking down the person with the key to the cabinet, but it was worth it.
I picked up Motorstorm, Resistance 2, and Saint's Row 2 all for $117. So 3 games for under the price of 2. I would especially go for this for Sony games because they tend to wait a long time to drop the price, and sometimes they never do (see Uncharted 1).

I just finished the update and I tried to save to memory card...it said I could not save it.

In case anyone is wondering, the update doesn't unlock the game save until you complete a race (or actually play some event in MS). I had the same issue: ran update but couldn't copy save. I noticed that my save had an older date/time, so I simply completed an event and then went back and was able to copy off the save after that.

Very underrated arcade racer, definitely needs more love from PS3 owners. Like Criterion does with Burnout Paradise, I hope Sony will continue to support this with additional dl content like this.

I did not confirm my comment...because I figured it out before I checked my e-mail. I didn't confirm it because I didn't want it posted...I can see how well that worked out. Anyway I think its a great game and appreciate the patch.
