PSN Thursday: Let's play Noby Noby Boy

Today's update also brings PopCap's Zuma to PS3 (it's no Peggle, but what is ... except, well, Peggle), along with the much-anticipated Burnout Paradise Legendary Cars Collection, WipEout trimmings (plus costumes) for LittleBigPlanet and a playable demo of Loco Roco 2 for PSP, among various other offerings.

ice~ @ Feb 19th 2009 6:22PM
when does noby noby boy go up on the PSN? cause i haven't seen it...
waves @ Feb 19th 2009 6:27PM
I'm at 63% right now, after having my first attempt fail. I found it by going to the PSN store and clicking on the Spring Fever box (it should say Noby Noby Boy on it).
ice~ @ Feb 19th 2009 6:37PM
alright thanks i seriously can't wait especially after reading Eurogamers really good review of it.
waves @ Feb 19th 2009 6:46PM
I got it. I've taken the controls 'quiz' and I'm in the 'boy house' reading the manual. I don't know what's going on, but I'm loving it so far.
ice~ @ Feb 19th 2009 6:54PM
lol now I'm on 65%. From what I hear this game is seriously mind boggling. But at the same time extremely fun. Can't wait :D
WhiteShield @ Feb 19th 2009 6:32PM
cool, an afro samurai demo. but something that i'm a little tired of are LBP downloads. i mean i have the game yes, but i'm not going to buy an outift for my character for like 1 or 2 dollars. i could go to mcdonalds or arby's or something. and you can't get all the trophies unless you buy the MGS level pack thing
John S @ Feb 19th 2009 6:34PM
The MGS Pack is worth every penny.
Can't say the same for some of the costumes.
Khaled @ Feb 19th 2009 6:50PM
MGS Pack is worth EVERY PENNY!!!!
Sora @ Feb 19th 2009 8:36PM
What Arby's has stuff for $1 or $2? All the ones down here are really expensive compared to other fast food restaurants...
WhiteShield @ Feb 21st 2009 5:06PM
i was thinking more along the line of the 5 for 5 dollars deal w/ arby's. not sure if they still have it, been going to skyline (people from cincinnati know what i'm talkin bout).
Unnxandros @ Feb 19th 2009 6:33PM

Markez @ Feb 19th 2009 6:39PM
I don't suppose Noby Noby Boy is PSP, is it?
My girlfriend has a PSP so I've got to look into how to connect the darn thing to PSN, would love to try the Loco Roco 2 demo.
Er, do I have to have a PS3 to connect the PSN?
*puts dunce cap on
rohan @ Feb 19th 2009 6:42PM

top.slacker @ Feb 19th 2009 7:17PM
Update your PSP to the latest firmware and then you can access the Playstation Store on the PSP.
Quite handy :).
D_Average @ Feb 19th 2009 6:45PM
I'm a weirdo, I've got five bucks, I went for it!
Khaled @ Feb 19th 2009 6:53PM

I wanna get Noby Noby Boy, but I'm not sure.

Unproportional:
Make BOY's body grow thicker while keeping his head small.
west @ Feb 19th 2009 7:07PM
Not to be totally random but has anyone else got their code from Qore for Syphon Filter yet? I downloaded that last Thursday and it said to look for a code via email and I've received nothing.
Anyway, Noby Noby boy is fun.
west @ Feb 19th 2009 7:08PM
Uhg. So weird, when i checked my email to confirm my comment, there was my code.
top.slacker @ Feb 19th 2009 7:19PM
The sony spies....
....they are everywhere!!!
The1stMJC @ Feb 19th 2009 7:19PM
i am on the fence about Noby Noby Boy, on one hand it looks weird on the other PSN has never let me down on fun and entertaining content.
AkmGamer @ Feb 19th 2009 7:24PM
How about chairs.
j.howlett @ Feb 19th 2009 7:52PM
only after tables and ladders
jinn35 @ Feb 19th 2009 9:16PM
OK, what is up with the chairs and ladders thing? I am the only one not getting an obvious joke or is it a referance to some movie or something?
Sinistar @ Feb 19th 2009 7:58PM
Does anyone know if Noby supports remote play?
DiL @ Feb 19th 2009 8:06PM
only 40% left until my life changes
DiL @ Feb 19th 2009 9:40PM
my life is now very confused
arrness @ Feb 20th 2009 12:41AM
hahaha very nice
guillemot @ Feb 19th 2009 8:22PM
Ok, NNB it's the craziest, insanest game EVER.
and, Afro Samurai = good (great soundtrack)
j.howlett @ Feb 19th 2009 8:39PM
i'll try the afro samurai demo, noby might have to wait a few days
Strategy_Panda @ Feb 19th 2009 8:46PM
I've been waiting to see how NN Boy turned out. I think it turned out weird. Can't beat the price though!
Mattimeoo @ Feb 19th 2009 9:12PM
NOBY NOBY BOY!!! OOHHHH YEEEAAAHHHH! I bought it the very second the store was updated. Best $5 I've ever spent!
captain_duck @ Feb 19th 2009 9:15PM
Here is some noby noby boy ingame footage taking with the ingame movie maker (and automatic youtube uploader, nifty)

mgsrocks1 @ Feb 19th 2009 9:24PM
I still don't understand what Noby Noby Boy is. It looks so weird and crazy but strangely intriguing. Can anyone explain to me exactly what this game is? Is it worth the purchase?
Josh @ Feb 19th 2009 9:37PM
It's a toy. No goals, just play with it like you would play with a toy when you were younger.
And yeah buy it.
Darlaten @ Feb 20th 2009 3:32PM
My poor PSP - again, nothing for it. Yes, I know there is Loco Roco 2 demo plus a theme but really...it's another disappointing release week for the PSP. Come on Sony - I have yet to see the "year of the PSP" yet and we're already heading into March ;)
Oh well, come on Burnout Paradise Legendary Car Pack - time to go smash :)
Josh @ Feb 19th 2009 9:31PM
I... snapped my BOY in two. >.>
Also, I forgot to check how many meters the biggest contributor in the world so far has contributed to GIRL. I think he's/she's Japanese. Does anyone have the number?
fetcher.nwah @ Feb 20th 2009 9:57AM
Last night, it was somewhere around 260k meters, I think. And yeah, Japanese. Trying to figure out the game is an exercise in crazy.
Josh @ Feb 20th 2009 12:43PM
Haha, he/she must just be playing non-stop since it was released.
It is a really neat toy, though, this game.
linebeginstoblur @ Feb 19th 2009 10:13PM
This is, by far, one of the best updates I have ever seen come to the PS Store. I thought about quitting my part-time job, but when I realized my cart came to $37 in one day alone... I realized there was a problem lol
chris.westermann @ Feb 19th 2009 10:25PM
Sony should really do some quality control for PSN releases because I am incredibly dissapointed in Zuma. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the game Zuma, I just expected the PS3 version of it to look a little better then the iPod/iPhone version. Seriously, all PopCap did was port the game from their infinte versions and made one for the PSN. Even though it boasts 1080p resolution, its 4:3 ratio (with some graphic bars on the side) and its clear its upscaled from most likely a 480 resolution, starcase plauged 2D graphics and no effort put into visual effects just shows that PopCap is into whoring their games on as many platforms as they can get licensed on. They are not interested in innovating or improving their franchise games, they had a few good ideas 5 years ago and haven't done anything new since. Also at $9.99 this is a joke compared to a game like Flower which is both innovative and boasts supperior graphics and far better production quality to Zuma. Even Noby Noby at $4.99 is a better show for the PSN then Zuma.
Sony should be ashamed for bringing PopCap games to the PSN, and PopCap should be ashamed for plauging thier PS3 with their inferior and lackluster ports compared to the innovative exclusive titles the PSN has become renowned for.
I for one will never buy a PopCap game on the PSN until they put more then a frew hours of effort into porting the game to the PS3.
.
Levi @ Feb 20th 2009 12:12PM
I agree. PopCap's intrusion just lowers the standards of PSN releases, as well as thins the quality of the PSN library. I mean, we don't have to buy them, so it shouldn't be a big deal, but when you can play these games on practically any computer made in the last like 8 years... Why get them on your PS3.
Maybe sales figures will prove me wrong.
AlpaGino @ Feb 19th 2009 11:26PM
I bought Noby Noby Boy and it plays fine and everything but I have no sound during the game. I recorded a video and it has sound. Anyone else having issues, I have a launch 60gb with a new 160gb harddrive. Any suggestions?
