The 9th Circuit Court has affirmed that the California game law is not going to fly -- so, state tax payers better prepare to write the Entertainment Software Association another check. This latest appeal was pushed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger after a lower court had seemingly killed the law by placing a permanent injunction on it.
ESA president Michael Gallagher believes this is a "win" for California's citizens, stating this is a "clear signal" that this type of "reckless" legislation is an "exercise in wasting taxpayer money, government time, and state resources." GamePolitics reports that Leland Yee (D) is pushing for California to appeal the ruling to the Supreme Court. Wonder how much money the ESA would get back from fighting that?

Idiotic. Not only the thought of this law, but pushing it after it clearly is going to fail is also stupid.

Exactly. They've tried time and time again to pass laws like this in dozens of states. And every time it's been ruled unconstitutional.
How come I, a teenager from another continent knows more about the precedents and constitutional implications, than professional politicians who are actually doing it?

I think Arnold Schwarzenegger is a pretty cool guy eh, appeals video game laws and doesn't afraid of anything.

On one hand, I want this to go to the Supreme Court so it'll permanently get slapped down and nobody will try again.
On the other hand, I don't want California to lose any more money and I want Leland Yee out of my life for good.
Decisions, decisions.

As a state, we're failing quite a bit lately. Thanks.

Yes, the best thing to do when your state is burdening its citizens with a tax hike to cover a $45 billion budget shortfall is to waste more money.

Did anyone else misread Leland Yee as Leland Chee?
I did and was all like "Whoa, not only does he manage the continuity of Star Wars but he also is a senator? No wonder the Clone Wars is such a Charlie-Foxtrot."

That's so wierd the 9th circuit calling something unconstitutional? I wonder how they catagorize legislating from the bench. Do as I say not as I do, right?
