Codemasters drops release windows for Dirt 2, Overlord II, Fuel, others
34
Codemasters is avoiding the holiday rush by releasing several of its titles this year during the sleepy summer months (and for this, we thank them). The Overlord sequel, FUEL, and a little game that caught our eye, Jumpgate Evolution, all drop during low-pressure sales months. Codies will release DiRT 2 much closer to the holiday insanity:

It definitely didn't feel finished, but it was still loads of fun. If Overlord 2 is more of the same, I'll be happy.

I'm definitely picking up Overlord 2. Overlord was an amazingly pleasant surprise, even if the fun wore off torwards the end (by the troll village, I was over it. Coincidentally many people I talk to stopped there as well).
I would definitely buy O2 on day 1.

Something about Codemasters choice for names makes me laugh a bit, they aren't very good at it :)
FUEL, GRiD, DiRT
What next?
TORqUE, ENGiNE, SPeED??

If fuel delivers on its promise it will singlehandedly make up for the fact that 2009 seems like a lean year for video game releases.

Ah Codemasters, one of the few British developers to survive from the 8/16 bit era. Remake Captain Dynamo! (and the Dizzys of course)

Was the first Dirt released on PSP as well? IF so was it any good, my PSP needs some type of game after Resistance.

Yay! More DiRT. It has been one of my favorite racing games ever. It may not have the perfect handling of GT or all the features of Forza, but it perfectly captures the excitement and intensity of Rally racing.
Only game I've ever cared about getting all 1000 Achievement points for.

I got to the end of the game and encountered no bugs at all. It really is a fresh and addicting game, it kept me entertained for quite a while. I cannot recommend picking it up strong enough, especially at the price it must be at now.

Codemasters really deserves a pat on the back. They've been doing a hell of a job on all of their stuff recently, especially their racing games!

Another annoying multi-plat article that should have been divided up into sections. If I wanted multi-plat news, I'd just go to main Joystiq.
Guys, please - most of us REALLY don't want to wade through 20 product announcements to get to the one single tidbit of news for our product of choice. Every other 'PSP' tagged post these days is one of these multi-topic pieces and the ratio of PSP to everything-else (or even just PS3) content is not good.
I miss the Fanboy configuration.

Get used to it or migrate, they don't care. They do this to save manpower, but I don't see why someone can't take 30 seconds to make an individual post for the PSP/product of choice website. They must be SUPER busy at Joystiq HQ, especially with all that refusing to fix the broken avatars going on.

Operation Flashpoint 2 and Dirt 2 will be awesome! Although I don't imagine it will be so successful on consoles that are so COD-dominant (OF2 I'm talking a bout).
I'll definitely give Overlord 2 a play since the first one was hilarious. The writing for that game deserved some kind of award.
