Looking to pick up a DSi at launch, but not sure what to do with your old DS Lite? Brits will be able to trade it in at their local GAME and pick up the new model for half price. That's £74.99, in case you're wondering. GAME's operations director, Robert Quinn, claims that the company will "have plenty of stock and some fantastic launch offers to give customers the best possible experience."
If you're not willing to part with your old DS Lite, the offer also extends to unwanted Xbox 360s, PSP-3000s and Wiis. To be honest, though, all of those are worth far more than the 75 quid you'd be getting in return. The DSi is released in Europe on April 3 and will retail for £150. That gives you plenty of time to hunt around the house for your old DS Lite box. You do still have it, right?

I still can't believe their charging £150 for a DSi. No way in hell are the new features worth that money. Maybe if it had 3Megapixel cameras, but 0.3? No wayyy.
To put this in perspective for US gamers:
DS retailed at £100, and DSLite retails for £100
Wii= £180
360 Arcade= £130
Could get a frickin home console for cheaper than the DSi. I hope it bombs so Nintendo lower the price. I'm not getting it for and more than £120.

That's... kind of intriguing, actually. If I lived over there, I'd probably consider it! It's a better deal than Gamestop will bother coming up with, for sure. "We'll take that Lite off your hands--don't spend this shiny new nickel in one place!"

That's kind of stupid actually. I would want to transfer my Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection info over to the DSi before I trade it in. I wouldn't want to have to reset my Friend Codes and tell everyone to delete my previous codes and add my new ones. That's a hassle, and a pain in the balls. If this ever happened in America, I'm going to demand that I can open my DSi in the store and transfer my Wi-Fi Connection info first, THEN had it to them.

Maxx: I'm sure it depends on the clerks. If they're nice people, I'm sure they'd let you do that. If you lived in the UK.

I still don't have a DS Lite because my DS Fat still works fine, but the Nintendo Store is quite an enticement to upgrade to DSi.
