Cool Stuff for Sunday, Volume 3

Many PlayStation fans wish Sony would open up their pockets a bit and advertise the system a bit more. S1gfrid from VGChartz created this simple, but effective, ad campaign. These posters highlight the many unique exclusives available on the PS3. For example, the poster on the left shows games that mature gamers may be interested in: Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid 4 -- while the poster on the right shows the system's more family-friendly affair. It's a simple concept that we think would work very well in a mainstream magazine. Check out all the pics here.

Crysis user mod takes on Killzone
How good does Killzone 2 look? Enough to make Crysis fans take notice. Modder atsest is recreating a level from the upcoming PS3 shooter. Inspired by the original 2005 CG trailer, the modder is making some significant steps towards achieving the Killzone look. Read more about the ambitious project here.

Ugh. In addition to having fantastic graphics, Crysis, at least before the aliens, had so much beautiful color. Killzone's monochrome gray color scheme isn't exactly appealing, and is not a feature that needs to be replicated in a superior game.

@PR0FT3A de V1DA, Even as someone who prefers a muted-gritty colour scheme like the one in Killzone 2, Must point out that Crysis is for the PC and upon my last check Halo Wars was for the 360, So why would he be comparing it to a PC game? Even If he's being an arrogant prick about how he says it, I'm surprised he got voted down and your not. I mean he (While being arrogant) is at least offering an opinion- Compared to you who's just saying "Hey, I'm a cunt, Stick you cock in me!"

If its colour you want, go play Halo :) That game has enough rainbows in it to outdo Dora the Explorer.

Crysis had lovely radiant colour, but then it wasn't a gritty, violent and horrific war was it now, the Aircraft carrier was one of the few scenes that gave me that impression, the rest of the game made me feel like one day I was enjoying a nice holiday in the carribean and along came aliens to ruin it.

I agree. That photo looks nothing like Drake. Certainly looks more like a bum with a gun like you stated. His hair looks like it's "afro'd".

Dude... if those ads went up, that'd be enough to make me get a PS3 if I didn't have one yet :P lol. Well mostly the hardcore and shooters ones... Amazing work. And I'm sure a professional ad campaign would have even greater effect.

the infamous trailer was really good

To add some extra flavor they could all be dancing on top of the rotten corpse of Bill Gates. Now that would be a statement. ;)

I love the grey of Killzone, bright, shiney colours are definately Ecksbawks territory.

What better way of tricking retards and children into buying a PC in a white box? Shiney (always wondered why ecksbawks games were so shiney) bright colours and LOTS of adverts.

PS3 users are drawn to realism, gritty, exciting realism, not bright shiney lasers!

I don't like the fact that Ratchet & Clank is being labelled 'for everybody'. Maybe it's just me :/

I agree. Ratchet and Clank should be switched out for Singstar, or Pixel Junk Monsters. Im sure there is something better than Ratchet.

Need to change the "Only on" font to something a little less ornate or to something in line with font used for "Playstation 3". The one with vehicle- not Ferrari 599 for GT- perhaps the futuristic new Citroen GT would be more interesting. And the "only on Playstation 3" seems a little too small in so much space. The backdrop colour a bit too "Martha Stewart" colour scheme. Everything else is convincing.

Great looking pictures....but whata heck is up with Nathan Drakes hair? It certainly wasn't that fluffy in the game :/

if that psn poster was for sale, i would buy it in a heartbeat. i've been amazed at the quality of psn releases. i just wish the poster had a grimp on it.

I hate how people can be such downers. Here us Playstation 3 owner are anticipating one of the best PS3 game for this year and everyone is complaining about grey colours. I mean do the Helgast look like Care Bears or My Little Ponies to you? What do you expect from a war like planet? Do you expect it to be blue with polka dots? It's just like the God of War 3 trailer. While I am here watching Kratos kick monster @$$ on the back of a Titan, people are complaining about character models and cliche. I mean Gears of War was dull grey,everyone in the game had the personality of a deck chair,the way they moved where completely off and the story boiled down too "We good soliders, Monsters bad, Shoot Monsters" but not many people mentioned that.

Hardcore 2 is pretty funny since Godess of War is over. :P

Those PSNation interviews were great. I can't wait for the Kyle Shubel interview for episode 102.
