Vin Diesel vehicles don't really need much of a plot to be brilliant or successful (see: xXx) -- regardless of this fact, it seems the upcoming follow-up to one of the most surprisingly well put together licensed games ever, Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, has a story we're itching to dive into. A recent trailer teases some of the plot points we'll be uncovering when the game drops April 7.
Here's what we picked up during our first pass through the trailer (embedded after the jump) -- throughout Dark Athena, Mr. Diesel will be "hunting" some "zombies" on a derelict space station, facing off against a feisty villainess, and stabbing anything that hoves into his field of vision. Yep, that sounds about right.

This is a perfect example of a game with a good SP but adding on MP for no reason (if u see the MP look bad, with maybe only one good mode the one where one person plays as riddick while others try to kill him)

Try not to speak in run on sentences. Then maybe people will understand you.

or how about this line... "if u see the MP look bad"
does that mean that the multiplayer is giving me a bad look? or am i supposed to give the multiplayer a bad look?
if you are going to support your original post by asking how we understand it, the LEAST you can do is go back over it and find the obvious mistakes like the one i pointed out above. otherwise your just making yourself look even worse

If you see the MP, try to look bad-ass. So it won't mess with you.
that aside, i do think he has a point. There really isn't much of a reason to add multiplayer to a title like this. I doubt it'll do anything particularly original, and everyone will just be playing CoD or Halo anyway. It'd make more sense to focus those resources on the singleplayer game.
(or on a Wii port of the original.... I want motion control shiv action!)

Looking good, I like the field of view. But was it just me or did some of the lip-synching look a little off?
Hope the harder parts of the game don't degenerate into generic shoot 'em-ups.

i was blown away when the first one came out. i hope i have the same feelings with this one. starbreeze is gonna make alot of money off people like me that loved the first one, but our eyes have been spoiled with gears and killzone.
does anyone here think the gameplay is gonna be kinda clunky and wierd? its like its gonna remind me of the first condemned melee attacks. they werent that great to me...

Sounds like my kind of game. I stab anything that hoves into my field of vision anyway. Those damn fruit flies, always hoving and heaving.

Hopefully this retains the adventure aspects of the first game. That was what made the game interesting and worth playing, not the action elements (although the melee/hand-to-hand combat was pretty well done).

gameplay looks superb. graphics look ok ish. would definitely buy it. the last game was fantastic. no real need for MP in this type of game. other than maybe some type of leaderboard type of thing.

Awesome. Riddick is hands down one of the hardest core characters ever invented. C. Bale as Batman is another.

I wish they'd incorporate some of the stuff from Pitch Black.
Not as a tagged on MP mode, but as in some real Aliens-style, stay-in-the-light action in the single player campaign.
It'd be awesome to have a level where you have thousands of flying aliens in the darkness around you, and only limited flares, etc..

That was a cinematic quality trailer, really gave the game an epic feeling. I actually like the multiplayer modes in concept, and I just hope they work well. The original Riddick game made me fall in love with the backstory and is probably my all time favorite single player FPS, just ahead of Deus Ex 2.

Oh I cannot wait to get my hands on this game. Loved the first. It was awesome. One of the best games on the original Xbox (And IMO, better than a certain game with a name starting with an H)
Doubt I'll spend much time with the multiplayer, but getting a reworking of the single player "Escape from Butchers Bay" and a new story along with it is enough to keep a smile on my face for quite sometime.
