These real gamers must have to upgrade their graphics cards every 6 months just to play new releases!

Thank God I'm not a real gamer with my Xbox 360!

@cloud858rk

If you had this game on the PC you'd see how misinformed you are.

As in Valve accommodates pretty trashy PCs in games like TF2 where other publishers don't.

My question is why won't Valve give the same fan service to Xbox 360 and PS3 gamers as PC gamers? The Orange Box would probably still be spinning in my X360 if they did.

As far as the "real gamer" stuff? Get a life. I'm asking a general question from a logistical standpoint.

Well it just so happens that I do own the game on PC, and I don't "see how misinformed I am." In fact, I've played the 360 version a ton, and only played the PC version a few hours at best. I payed the full $60 to get the Orange Box on 360, and I want to be able get the new content on the platform I prefer.

Thank you. I appreciate that you aren't completely biased and have actual reasoning skills.

We're all gamers, don't be an elitist ass. I say this as a PC-exclusive gamer myself.

Also, apparently the last thing is something called the "Force-A-Nature." It's listed in two of the achievements. Apparently, it's got knockback, and you can kill people from behind with it, so it must cause damage, too.

Gabe Newell and Robin Walker have both talked about this several times. Valve wanted to release all the updates for free on 360, but Microsoft wouldn't let them. Content given freely to customers who have paid for your game? NONSENSE! MS won't have it! So Valve decided to wait and package a big chunk of updates into a DLC that's expansive enough to warrant a price tag.

Anyone can find this out simply by Googling.

@cloud858rk

I haven't upgraded a thing since I built my new rig from 3 years ago. The whole thing cost under 900 dollars. It runs TF2 and L4D both perfectly, with high-end settings and max res. Plus I get the more intuitive feel of a mouse and keyboard, way more customization and free user-made mods\content.

They have indeed said in the past that Microsoft will not let them release the updates without charging, however, what suddenly changed with the announcement of the L4D DLC, which will not only be released at the same time as the PC, but will be free of charge. Something doesn't sit right in this situation.

Also look at Burnout's DLC, which was free at one point.

From what I've learned recently, Gabe Newell has some sort of disdain for consoles, so maybe that's the reasoning behind it. If this is true, I guess I answered my own question.

@Syke
Personally I'm a console guy. That way I know when I buy a game that it will run solid, and if it doesn't, then it's not my hardwares fault. I also don't exactly have an up-to-date computer, lol.

People are speculating it's a new gametype, involving a race through a stage similar to Badwater, or something. But yeah, people are speculating some kind of payload-race.

There are user maps with two bombs and there is a red bomb model. However, my betting is The Hunted being the new mode.

Because we can't do this all day!

I have serious issues. For some reason I can't get into Valve games at all. I bought the Orange Box and I had Left 4 Dead and didn't like either one of them all that much. Other than Portal I didn't like the OB at all. It's not that they aren't quality products or that I hate Gabe Newell for taking a verbal dump on the PS3. I just don't think the games are that special. Maybe it's because they are designed to be played on high end PC rigs and the console ports aren't that impressive. I don't know exactly what it is but I'm not a big fan of their games. Again, they are good games and I had fun with them but they aren't OMGWTFBBQ!!!111 that so many others feel when playing them. Maybe I just suck. :(

meh i am probably the only one who hates the new tf2

i logged countless hours playing tfc back in 1998 when the half-life first came out, and feel that the gameplay was just a lot better.

i hate this new cartoony look they went with, i remember seeing the original tf2 concept trailers waaaayy back in the day it was like battlefield2 but ahead of its time, i was really looking forward to it until i saw the new look...

So you hate it because of the visual style? How each class has a distinct silhouette and are colored so you know exactly who everyone is, and what team they're on, which leaves a lot more focus on the actual teamwork?

I've only played this a handful of times when the Orange box was released on PC. It's awesome, I just kind of neglected it. This update makes me want to get back in it again.

has there ever been any talk of team fortress 3? i got the orange box for my xbox360 just this last christmas, and i've really really enjoyed playing TF2, but i can't help but wonder how huge and expansive a sequel could be for the xbox and other consoles if the game ships by itself, not as part of a collection. i'd love to see what valve could do with that.
