New Play Control Metroid Prime games get Corruption's token system
18
If you played through any significant portion of Metroid Prime 3, then you likely encountered a colorful token or two during your progression through the game. These tokens were awarded for a variety of reasons and were a lot of fun to compare with your friends, so it's nice to see them being utilized in the New Play Control versions of Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime: Echoes. Anything adding replay value to these great games is just fine by us!

The only way to add value to the best game of all time. Add that ability for screencaptures too and you'll have one happy Metroid fan

Eh, this seems like a no go for me. I mean I have been a metroid fan ever since it first came out, but I mean I rather just play the games I have on the GC than buy it again on the wii. Same with most of the other new play control games....
I'd rather save my money for a new Nintendo game(or the Conduit...whenever it comes out) than for something I already have basically. I guess the achievement system was something I didn't really care about lol.

eh, I don't think I would buy this one this time. I mean I have been a major metroid fan since the start but I am really not a fan of buying a game I already have.
I am just content with the GC graphics and nonachievements as I just have fun playing it. If I want to play it a game, I will just stick my GC disc in the Wii(Or GC old school style) and play it again.
I mean. I rather save my money up for a new Nintendo game(or conduit) rather than another copy. Guess I am not that into achievements(which is sad since I have an XBL account, take that peggle!)

Wait a sec... Has New Play Control for Echoes been confirmed then? The article makes no mention of it, and I can only remember the first Prime being announced.

They're probably going to wait for Echoes until they see how Prime is received. No reason to re-release a sequel if the first re-release falls flat.

I really do not hope they are going to see if the first is going to succeed or fail; I WILL buy the second one since I don't own it (just rented).

Yes, it was announced together with Prime, Mario Tennis and Pikmin... however, the point is when will it be announced for America?!!!
I have the first game for GCN and is awesome, but I want to buy Echoes for Wii to justify the trilogy! C'mon!

Have a U.S. release date? No? Then why the hell should we care about this news?

Most people hated Americans because you voted for Bush. Well actually you didn't due to the fact that a) There is no compulsory vote (and the type of people who vote weren't evenly spread out) and b) thousands of votes went mysteriously missing. Hmmmm.
Still hopefully Barack Obama shows us that the cream of American society doesn't eat crayons.

That doesn't really matter to me at all, really.
I'm going to buy it anyway.
Because Metroid is awesome.
It's a hot chick in armor.
What more do you need?
The fact that the games are good is gravy (very very delicious gravy)

YAY! They fixed Metroid. MP3 was the best by far not just with the other boosts, but because they fixed the horribly inadequate controls of MP1. Mapping a FPS game with the c-stick wasted on visor flipping all the while allowing space pirates to strafe and frag with a lock on me while I have to stand, get blasted, get the lock and then be on equal footing. Sucks to that, and why I did never touch MP2.
These things are a godsend as now I'll have 2 great Prime games to mess with soon with proper control!

I never understood how people could complain about the controls. It took me all of 15 seconds to master them. They worked amazingly well.

Uhh there's getting used to them enough to play alright, and then there's the whole level of them being glaringly inadequate late in the game about the time you do the Omega Pirate. Having to stop, get shot to sh*t to get a Z lockon, so then you can return fair fire was stupid as all hell. MP3 made it very glaringly obvious they screwed us wasting the stick on lame visors.
Anyone who really does complain about them are used to having mouse-look or even well constructed dual-analog control with PC/console games. You go from dozens of FPS games that work well on the market, to a game in the same arena and you're hosed without being a bullseye for a few hits to get your lock. It was a bad move and it kept me from buying MP2. All I ever touched of it was about 20min~ on the Fusion Tour they used to do when it hit town that year.

I will only buy this game if they add another save station in Phazon Mines. Or if it's only AU$30 or something and I have money to waste.
