This is great news! If you didn't get a chance to play Butcher Bay on the Xbox, do yourself a favor and pick it up. Easily one of my top 10 games of the last generation.

I can't wait for this. I played the demo for Butcher Bay a while back and loved it. I just never got around to getting it. Too busy with Halo 2 and Burnout Takedown.

I was so glad to hear it was getting a this-gen makeover. Butcher Bay could be the only game on that disk an I'd still pay 50$ for it. Don't tell Vivendi that, though.

What the crap is up with developers many times not giving demos to the PC versions of multiplatform games? If you take the time to develop the game for the PC, why not a demo as well? Now I have no choice but to pirate the entire game to try it out. You can't rent PC games to try out and nobody I know is a PC gamer to borrow games from. Ah, the life of an elite PC gamer is a lonely one. : (

I find your use of the word, elite, amusing.

@ Rahul (Rurouni Kenshin Forever!) : I find your use of the word elite, pathetic.

Either way, Dark Athena/Butcher Bay should be great either way. Looking forward to it.

Oops, Rahul i think you meant to post a pic of your $7,000 dollar MMO, RTS, rig.
Somehow an imitation Cyanide and Happiness drawing was put up instead.

I'm just kidding around, don't wanna start a fight. PCs and consoles have their own respective strengths and weaknesses. I went with a PC this time because this was my first time building a PC and I finally wanted to build one, my brother has a lot of PC games for me to play, its also going to be used for other tasks like an HTPC, video encoding, photo editing, and it is hooked up to my HDTV, etc.

Anyways, please developers if you make demos for your console versions of games, please release demos for PC versions as well, some do it, some don't do it, but I hope everyone can do that.

I haven't been following this as closely as I thought. Am I to understand that Assault on Dark Athena is actually an enhanced HD version of Escape from Butcher's Bay with a new campaign added to it? The new campaign being "Dark Athena?"

This is just too awesome. I bought Butcher's Bay for PC because I didn't have an XBox. Although it was great, I'm not much of a PC gamer (something about my PC, can't sit there for too long without feeling claustrophobic). So I just pretty much abandoned the game about half way through. It's exciting to know it will be available for PS3 this time around and greatly enhanced!

Definitely picking this one up.

@darkeyez: It's actually Dark Athena plus Butcher Bay all in one. So, basically you're getting two games on one disc. Both games will support HD and all the wonderful stats that you can find about the game. Butcher Bay is enhanced for the next-gen feel and Dark Athena is a nice addition as a new campaign to the Riddick saga.

Colour me interested. As I'm currently playing through, and *loving* Dead Space, I'll be wanting more space-based shenanigans come April.

Man I hope this game is successful enough to get the green light from Universal to get the sequel to the movie made. I need to know what happens once Riddick goes to the Underverse.

I'm calling it now. This is going to win "Best Game Based on a Movie" at this year's VGAs and other awards. The original Xbox version was freakin' awesome!

Holy hell, I didn't realize this came with a Butcher's Bay remake too. Unless they ruined it somehow and the new campaign is terrible, I will definitely be picking this up.
