This Wednesday's Xbox Live Arcade release is Taito's action platformer Exit 2, which (according to Xbox.com) was initially expected to release last week. Exit 2 will be available for purchase from the Xbox Live Marketplace for 800 ($10) and comes packed with 240 stages, ten challenges and an extremely '80s-inspired neon pink logo.
Given the insane amount of content in the first game, I can't see this selling well. Either people bought the first game, in which case, they still have a lot of it left to play through, or they're not interested in a 2D puzzler, in which case, they're unlikely to buy this.
I agree for the most part. The XBLA version is kind of underwhelming. Sure, it's stylish, but the gameplay feels stilted, with each level being a case of 'kill-yourself-10-times-in-order-to-figure-out-how-the-level-is-supposed-to-work'.
Somehow, the controls feel wrong too. Not responsive enough: half the time, Mr. Esc does exactly what I don't want him to. Which of course, leads to failing the level again...
