A story from Haaretz was circulating last week claiming that Microsoft was in talks to purchase 3DV, maker of a camera-based motion sensing technology. Now, VentureBeat has supported the claim, saying that its sources confirm that a deal is in the works.
Assuming Microsoft has gaming in mind and not creepy, Minority Report-style desktop navigation, our feelings are mixed on it. It could be a giant leap forward if 3DV's tech were bundled with a new console, but we're not sure we'll be ponying up for another stand-alone camera while still under the watchful, dusty eye of our Xbox Live Vision. What about you?

If history serves as precident, Microshaft are only buying this company to stop a competitor using it.
They won't go out on a limb with it, they'll keep it to themselves until another company takes the risk and releases something similar, then they'll drop it with a huge ad campaign.
Microshaft NEVER do anything that hasn't been done before...
PC => Ecksbawks (DVD, no HD-DVD included? luckily, PC components, nothing new, nothing pushing the envelope)
Eye Toy => Whatever that Burt Reynolds Movies shit is.
Sing Star => Lips
Buzz => Whatever that quiz thing is called, you know the one that looks strangely familiar to anyone who's been playing Buzz for years?!?

hey, you know what "Microshaft" actually implemented well and brought into the mainstream world for most PC users, spellcheck. learn to use it.
secondly, Buzz was an extension of Scene It... not made by Microsoft, they just wanted to move on from stupid dvd games to something where they could do more. and i actually like Scene it a lot better than buzz, the same with sing star and lips. and vision cam has had better results on one console that Eye toy had on two.
but what do i know, i mean im the type of guy that still spells it Microsoft.
