Assassin's Creed coming to PSP

Good news, the Internet! Your "bring Assassin's Creed to PSP" petitions totally worked. SCEA announced during Destination PlayStation today that the game will appear courtesy of Ubisoft on Sony's portable later this year. In fact, your efforts were so effective, Sony's releasing an Assassin's Creed-themed bundle, though the only component they're talking about now is a Piano Black PSP.

SCEA stopped short of actually saying the move was thanks to the overwhelming, petition-generated e-pressure, but you'll always know the truth in your hearts.

I didn't know about any petition, but I LOVE this game. Was repetitive, but I never really got bored, ever. Even bought the DS version to help the franchise. Great news.

makes perfect sense to me. God knows I'd much rather play this game on the go anyways. damn if I'll be buying it again tho, unless its $30 or less

It'll more than likely be $40, have 5 hours of gameplay, and remain at that price for the next 6 years.

What about Assassin's Creed trophies for PS3? What about those petitions? Wouldn't it take a lot less time to put those in rather than to port an entire game for a completely different platform anyway?

getting worried about the psp? i had almost written it off. my newest game was patapon! and i got that a while back. ya sure we got dissidia and retribution, but these 4 titles released today have totally given me hope for our little system. with such blockbuster titles (i'm still freakin out about LBP), at least one or two are going to be great

great day for PSP. Patapon was the last game i bought for my PSP as well so it's been a while since i dusted it off. im most excited about this Rock Band Unplugged game though since it sounds just like Frequency/Amplitude which are games i loved.

Oh good. Now PSP owners can experience Ubisoft's shovelware, too.
It'll be hard to make a worse game than Assassin's Creed DS, but I'm sure if anyone can pull it off, it's Ubisoft.

Luckily for us the psp is shittons more powerful than the DS, and should be able to deliver an experience as close to the console version as possible. I'm sure it'll be close to a ps2 version of the first game, which I'll sure as hell take.

I remember this from the podcast. Sort of funny, I wonder if the PSP will be a good fit for a game where most of the fun is derived from climbing to the top of large buildings and looking out into amazingly textured and detailed cities.

I'm guessing this will be some sort of prequel or side story a la GTA PSP. I'm really looking forward to this, Ubisoft has been doing much better lately with game development and I have high hopes that this will generate a good few hours of fun.

It's a handheld people, of course it won't be exactly the same experience as the console versions. GoW: COO proved it could be done....
