Alright, enough. Stop. You can lay off the F5 button and cease your (frankly) childish refreshing of www.quakelive.com. The public beta of Quake Live – promised to be available today – is finally live and, unless you live somewhere not in the vicinity of Dallas-based id's timezone, it's still today and not tomorrow yet. Our advice to the Windows gamers reading this, in bullet point format for easy skimmability.

I got into the private beta, but the thing kept crashing my browser when ever I tried to load a match up. :(

I would love to follow these steps of yours... but the site is soooooooooooo slow and not loading all too much. Gotta love the flock of people as soon as something opens.

I have been in queue for about 20 minutes and I have not seen the page automatically update my position yet.

Sounds like yours is broken. My position has went down over 2000 in a few minutes.

28,453 rd in queue, PhoenixGeek is the username. I originally was 4000 something in line, then I closed the browser.

Yeah it literally just started moving down for me. It's a shame too, I was already creating an account but kept getting errors so I refreshed the page a bit and ended up in queue.

One of the times it said my email/username was taken even though I had not finished the process. So I have no idea what the deal is.

Also, i'd give my quake live tag, but i am embarrassingly terrible at pc fps, haven't played one really in the past 10 years. So if you ever run across someone incredibly easy to kill, it's probably me.

The queue went from 26000 to 20000 in under five minutes. My guess is that it's just people giving up and it will take forever.

Just a heads up, the queue DOES GO DOWN. When I posted I first, I was 32, 121. I am now 271. Its been about 30 minutes but if you are reading other various news and killing time, then it goes by fast!
