I once made a comment about Valve (more specifically Gabe Newell) delivering and I got banned. interesting...

Anyways, I am very much looking forward to anything from valve.

L4D MAY have surprised Gabe on the 360. Its good to see them turn around on all these little nagging issues. I'm hoping for at least 2 major DLC releases, before Dead L8TR.

Gears 2 multiplayer will remain broken, unfortunately. Epic Games would rather have fun swimming in their cash from 360 sales.

Not sure I'm following. Epic already released a patch, and is about to release another.

Granted, the first didn't fully "fix" some of the things it said it did, but we don't know whether or not the L4D patch did either...

Well i'm a regular member of the Epic Forums. I can say that although Epic is enjoying their new swimming pool filled with our money, they still care about the fans and are working as hard as they can to fix the multiplayer.

There are numerous problems, and a lot of them aren't simple fixes, so it will take numerous Title Updates to fix every single problem, but I am confident that Epic is trying their hardest and will eventually make things right.

I never played Left 4 Dead, so I don't know if this update fixes all problems, but if it does, then thumbs up to Valve.

Still haven't picked up the game (one of those idiots who think its content is not worth the whole $60)..but seeing the amount of support it is getting from Valve...i definately need to pick it up soon...if they get DLC for say 2 more scenarios..ill buy it.

There isn't a lot of content, but what is there is worth the money. It's one of those portal/flower situations where you may not be getting the quantity, but every single moment is quality.

as far as content goes i felt it was lacking, great game but $60 seems like alot. but i guess its to offset the operation costs (L4D uses dedicated servers provided by valve unlike most other games where someone hosts)

I don't know why you got downvoted, you weren't an ass about it. I bought the game and I'm not sorry I did, but for $60 it's not exactly overflowing with content.

Let's face it, we all wanted the DLC to be new campaigns. As good as the game is, the same 4 hour game over and over again does get a little stale.

i agree with you, but i AM going to be an ass about it. in it's current state, L4D isn't worth $60 imo. it's half of a bug-ridden, multiplayer-only game. L4D has it's merits, but the ONLY reason it wasn't torn to shreds by the gaming media, like Shadowrun was, is because it has a Valve logo on it.

Not only is L4D $49.95 on Steam, it had a half-price sale 2 weeks ago, making it $24.95. I picked it up immediatly.

I wouldn't say Left 4 Dead is bug ridden. I play it on 360 and I've yet to experience a bug after playing through each scenario multiple times. That being said, I don't think it's just the Valve logo that people like about the game. The content (however small it may be) is easily worth multiple plays and the feeling of teamwork throughout the game is interesting.

I doubt you've played it, Foxhound, so I don't know why I'm trying to convince a troll that L4D is a great game that is totally worth the money I spent on it. It's hands down the best multiplayer in 08, in my opinion at least.

I got it for 20 bucks at Amazon on Black Friday. The only pity is that I hardly play it anymore. Frankly, I really want a 'survival in a mall' setting - someone has to get it right (please?).

It's really good to see Valve patching L4D on a console, since they're usually not too big on consoles.

I agree with Dark Wayne. I never understood it either, I mean I saw some kills come out of it as a result...but only by experienced exploiters who knew where to stand (this applies only to the elevator, the manhole cover was just flat out dumb).

That bug is the reason why I only play on Bloodharvest. Which sucks, because No Mercy is superior but exploiters ruined the experience.

Agreed. It usually consisted of us just running in circles in the elevator mowing down wave after wave of futile vomit-hungry waves until even the infected got bored and just moved it.

Yes, the vehicles and dumpsters and stuff the tank moves disappear after a few seconds if it's unpassable.

I sure hope so. It'd be nice to finally play a No Mercy versus match. I was getting a little tired of Blood Harvest, but it was better to play that than to watch the elevator doors open up to a big yellow generator every &$*@ time.

Speaking of the elevator, I hope this also fixes the "throw something at a survivor and watch them fall through the floor" glitch.

No, it means the ramp on NM5 is blocked and inaccessable, for instance. Not being able to move objects is a different line of the patch notes.

I was wondering when the Infected HUD would be added, It's really useful
Valve must have really fought for the DLC...

How about a patch the fix the broken online gameplay of the unbalanced abundance of zombies for both teams. Why I never actually bought the game nor desire to play it anymore. Always seems more relevant when I play and go through a shit storm of zombies and when the teams switch. I'll be lucky to even get a decent number of zombies to go up against , pure bullshit and highly frustrating if you ask me...and don't get me started on punching...

I kinda wish they hadn't fixed the minigun jump. I wanted to use it for that achievement where you take no damage after contacting the rescue vehicle.

That exploit was kind of fun, mostly because if you did it wrong there was a good chance that it would cause your death.

"Easier to pounce a Survivor who is meleeing"
"Reduced autoshotgun damage against Tanks"

THANK YOU!!!!

They should have fixed up the No Mercy vs though. Survivors can just hide in corners and hold down melee in nearly every horde rush situation. Also infected can block the elevator exit and the sewer exit, which is total BS.

Now that I think about it, spawning the witch and tank at the same % kind of gives the bottom of the inning survivors an advantage, doesn't it?

Im pretty sure they fixed the elevator/manhole blockage (had to be a better way to word that) with this patch.

As for the melee, they fixed the melee towards a pouncing hunter so maybe it is less effective against hordes? We will see, as I too hate when people just all stand on top of one another and swing.

@MLS

Yes, that's basically the result. It has been like that on the PC version for a while and I personally do not like it. I'd much rather have random tank appearances, as the fixed ones mean the second group of Survivors has a chance to prepare and plan ahead for the Tank.

You might think that, but then, the infected side also have a bonus because they know when they will be getting their tank, so they can plan to have all 4 players set up and ready for when the tank spawns.

The Witch % doesn't matter so much as she's at the same % but not always the same position, nor is she the same orientation. As well, a witch on her own is useless vs an experienced player (cr0wned).

As well, I think the second group may get less drops than the first, because there are many times where molotovs have been plenty when I'm in the first group, but the second has none.

Makes it easier for a Hunter to pounce on a survive while meleeing? That kind of sucks, I have endless amounts of fun meleeing a hunter to death when they jump at me.

Though a question, is all the special infected related stuff underneath the Versus stuff, just for Versus as well?
