The rumors were correct, LittleBigPlanet is heading to PSP and it'll be here before the end of the year. Announced at today's Destination PlayStation retailer event, the PSP version will be developed "in conjunction" with Media Molecule and will offer a similar experience to the PS3 version with players being able to play, create and share on the go. We're promised plenty of new content, such as levels, exclusive to the PSP version this fall.
We'll be very surprised if we don't see any cross-platform interactivity, but details are very thin on the ground. We'll keep you updated as more information is revealed.

Nice addition to my PSP library (and I though I was never gonna buy another PSP game again). Seems like it might actually work better as a portable on-the-go game.

I can't imagine it being as great as the PS3 version, obviously. And the PS3 version has hiccups quite often, especially online. So the thought of portable makes me think BUGGY! But its still LBP on the freaking PSP!

I'm thinking the same thing. Those rumors about the completely overhauled design (i.e. slide up screen or whatever) that I keep hearing make me timid to take the leap though.

You know what would be awesome? A PS3 PSP mode that would let you unlock new PS3 LittleBigPlanet trophies by playing the PSP version and then synchronizing it with its big console brother.

The thought of making a level on my PS3 and then having to take a shit and still edit my level on the potty, makes me happy.

nuh uh. It screwed up after the realease of god of war since nothing came after. Noone really cared about secret agent clank and thats when the drought started. But before that it was good. If only they balanced the amount of releases to create enough hype.
They released wipEout pulse, god of war, crisis core, and patapon in only the first few months of 08. If they made the time frames between them longer it would have probably increased sales. But yes, there was a huge drought last year. For the second half

I'm not saying 4 games is good enough for one year. I'm saying if they planned on originally realeasing four good games, make the release dates every 3 months from each other to keep hype balanced instead of releasing them so nearby to one another.
I mean look at wipEout pulse. It was a great game but it was overwhelmed by the other great games so it didnt get a chance at a hit. Therefore the expansion packs never made it to america.

whats wrong with jump? or are you refering to Z axis jump? I hate when your running past on enemy behind or in front of then jump and end up running into them because in the process of jumping you also got moved ahead or back. Stilll an amazing Game was my 3rd Platinum

i just traded in Crisis Core yesterday. god i hated that battle system. it was so slow and it kept taking the game out of my hands with that stupid random slot machine. as a FF7 fan, i was REALLY disappointed in that one.

It's an event called Destination Playstation that Sony holds to announce new products to it's vendors, customer, retailers etc ...

Really interested to know how this will translate to the PSP. I'm glad they've decided to keep the 'Create. Share.' part of the slogan intact!

The PSP already had some really high quality titles coming in 2009 though they were a little more of niche titles. Now, with big guns like asassins creed, motorstorm, little big planet and rock band it's going to be even better. I also read that Sony is introducing a "lilac" ps3 aimed at young girl gamers that will be part of a hannah montanna psp bundle. Also, it was announced that the Ubisoft petz line would also be coming to the PSP. Madden and Tiger Woods '10 will also be retooled from the ground up for the PSP to make them less simulation and more of a portable experience.
Just think about the Playstation portable lineup this year!
resistance retribution
rock band
asassins creed
motorstorm
little big planet
patapon 2
mana khemia
hammerin hero
30 second hero
loco roco 2
prinny: can i be the hero
dj max portable
king of fighters compilation
samurai showdown anthology
final fantasy dissidia
star ocen 1 & 2
phantasy star portable
guilty gear accent core
dynasty warriors strikeforce
class of heroes
dragonball evolution
brave a warrios tale
... head esplodes ...
No one can say that Sony isn't trying with the PSP anymore. Hopefully they can nip the piracy thing once and for all and give even more developers a reason to come back to the PSP. w00t w00t!
It may not be the year of Sony in terms of overall sales but I can tell you as someone who owns a PS3 & PSP it's the year of Playstation for me!
Maybe we will get uncharted on the PSP next ... who knows!
All they need now is some kind of an E3 megaton like MS had last year with Final Fantasy. Maybe announce a new bundle and lower price as well as the old republic mmo coming to the PS3.

I think if you REALLY want to stretch it, you can say 10 of those games are highly anticipated, and I mean REAAALLLLY stretch it, but it is still most certainly very nice to see the PSP finally get some love. I hadn't purchased a game released in the second half of 2007 or all of 2008 with the exception of NBA: The Inside and Patapon. Was truly starting to fell like my PSP was good for very little, but LBP and Assassin's Creed alone makes for a pretty good year. Throw in a couple of surprises here and there, and I may actually play the thing when I'm at home, and not just on the road.

Case
Yeah I gave my disclaimer that up until today most of the games were niche titles. There are a good number that are already released as well. Out of that list the games that are highly anticipated that are unreleased are:
resistance retribution
rock band
asassins creed
motorstorm
little big planet
patapon 2
final fantasy dissidia
Phantasy Star Portable
I'm also very interested in Prinny, hammerin hero, 30 second hero and samurai showdown anthology. I have at least a passing interest in every games on the list though I won't buy the majority of them. However, it is good to have diversity on the platform. The point was to look at the releases for 2009 and as you can see there is a little bit of everything. It has big names, sleepers and something from every genre of gaming.
Vegeeta
See my above reply to Case. I don't really have any expectations of the game but if it turns out to be good I might consider picking it up. I'm not big into Dragon Ball (not like you are obviously with the name and avatar) but if it's a good fighting game then it could merit a purchase. It's just meant to show some of the diversity on the platform this year. Even though it may not have the numbers of the DS in terms of the sheer volume of games it is poised to have a good year in terms of it's variety and the quality of the games. None of us will know how good the games are until they are released. I guess I like to be optimisitc about things and not write off games before I play them. In that respect I guess we have different outlooks on things.
