Red Resident Evil 5 Xbox 360 bundle: it's real!

The Resident Evil 5 Xbox 360 bundle is totally a real thing that people will be able to buy! We kind of assumed that the bundle, containing a red system and a copy of the game, wasn't just some rumor, but now we have confirmation that is about as official as anything can be: an Xbox 360 told us! Check your spotlight -- it should be the second-to-last card.

The bundle features, of course, a red system and wireless controller, as well as a copy of the game (which stars Chris Redfield!) It also includes a black, wired headset, a 120GB hard drive, an exclusive Resident Evil premium theme, and Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix! All this for -- oh, we don't know how much, actually, nor do we know when it'll be available. Toys R Us listed $399 for the price, and we're inclined to believe it.

Update: Now it's even more official...er! Major Nelson has confirmed that the Resident Evil 5 bundle will retail for $399 and posted some high-res photos for your analysis.

yea I'll stick with my black one thanks.

I was in the market for a new 360 so this one comes at a perfect time for me. My old 20GB Pro is really showing it's age (in storage), and it was time to man up to a bigger HD.

I'm selling my 20GB Pro to a family member and using the money towards this RE5360. I already own a red controlller and I really love the color.

The black and red will really be bold and elegant. The 'Chill' white of the standard 360 is super sleek, but I never liked the matte finish of the Elite.

Because red is scary?

It symbolizes communism. That should be scary enough.

Besides that, I think the color is too bright. They should've made it more of a crimson red than this, and I might have considered getting the bundle just because of the good deal.

between being a photo, on the internet, & your computer, remember the appearance of the colour might not be exact.. on mine it's very crimson.. remember the green pads.. they were a grassy green, maybe close to 'goblin green' if you ever painted warhammer.. it could look lucid, or snot like on the internet..

It's really disappointing that there is not kind of RE5 artwork, logo or anything on this system. It's rather bland and uninspired.

Yeah, originally I was thinking about how cool it'd have been to have the Umbrella Corporation logo on it, but after some retrospection, I think it's best left without one.

In the unlikely event that I'd want to customize the console, I'll do it on my own accord ( http://www.decalgirl.com/browse.cfm/2,205.htm ) and not have the unit look as dated as a specific game's art might make it.

That is about the most ugly non-modified gaming console that I've ever seen, and I've been looking at gaming consoles since the early 1970's.

It makes the old Atari VCS with it's simulated wood case look downright classy.

hmmmm, i have seen that resident evil 5 banner with the red xbox 360 for like 2 weeks already, weird....i thought everyone else had it as well since it was on some download gamer picture contest as a preview picture

Red, green, orange and all the colors of the rainbow. The question is, do you want an RE5 bundle? Gemini Ace hit the nail on the head earlier IMO. All this talk on the systems color is irrelevant.

I mean if you want a Jasper, you want your moneys worth, and you games to play out of the box then this system is amazing. I hope Dell puts in on there website soon. Red may be a little much but it's minor. Lets hope the continue to put out bundles considering I am putting 360 in every room now for cheap streaming TV

How is that the only question? If I wanted a bundle and went to the store to buy it - it being red would be pretty high on the issues to consider.

Your right its not the "only" question, but since its stationary unlike a laptop which can be seen in public. Any one who does not own a 360, and really wants Re5, should be able to hurdle the color issue no problem. Im not good with words, i was basically trying to counter issues such as, "it wouldn't go with my entertainment system". True as an adult that statement is completely understandable, as a gamer i thought;"do you want to impress your neighbors or play games"?

That green case doesn't really go with the red of the console. Those colors just don't match...

Anyone know if the red controller is the controller with the fixed d-pad?

I don't know why so many people hate the color. I think it looks great. I would so buy if it weren't attached with that tank simulator.

I got an arcade Jasper for $200 and a 120 gb hard drive for 125 from buy.com and made my own elite. I would think MS would steer clear of anything red.

It would have been cooler if it had been black with what looks like blood dripping down the sides of the system. That would have been a sweet design compared to that ugly straight red color.

Does anyone know the color of the "Wired Headset" that is coming with the package? Will it be Red? That would kickass.

Yep I've decided: I'm reserving this console tomorrow morning. :) None of my friends will have this same unit, it's Jasper, I get RE5 for free and that HD is exactly what I've been wanting.

I think it's quite sad that people are crying over what color it is. Just like a car...it's not what the car looks like, it's what's under the hood, am I right? I bought mine last night and I love it. It's a hell of a deal considering all the things you get with it. I love how it comes with an HDMI cable. HDMI cables are really expensive and I'm glad it has a place to plug an HDMI cable now because my old 360 didn't have one. They pretty much fixed the bugs on the RROD and even if they didn't I got my warranty on it. It's also a perfect time for me to get one because I almost went to buy a regular elite. All in all, I think the red is pretty cool and if you had it in your living room you would change your mind becuase it's really not an eyesore.
