I enjoyed the story alot so I would like to see a continuation of it....

...but I just tried replaying it yesterday and man it is a god-awful game. Suffering from the Ubisoft-syndrome. I don't know why all their games are suffering from the same repetitiveness. I'll give the sequel a rent just to continue the story which was well thought out.

Michel Ancel's new game can't come soon enough. Until then I've lost faith in Ubisoft.

I think one of the problems with what has happened to Ubisoft is that they have gone on "open-world" syndrome. I like their games but all of them almost have adopted open-world technologies. Some open-world is good but too much of it and it just becomes too much. You can only do so much.

you actually put the game away without getting all the 'cheevs?

shameful!

anyways with http://assassinscreed-maps.com it was fairly painless.

and by fairly painless, i mean, a huge pain in the ass...

but... cheevos!

I thought it was in France, or at least linked to the French revolution..

I tried google for a french-Italian war.. best I got was the Franco-Spanish War in 1635, where Italians were involved

Exactly. Florence in the 15th century would the the ideal place for a game like this. There are people like Da Vinci and Michealangelo (amongst other greats) walking around and virtual rule of the city by the Medicis. Feuds were fairly common.

Fantastic setting. Hope it's true.

drats. I was hoping for a feudal samurai assassin game, not tenchu style bullshit, but more like the first AC but with weapons and techniques appropriate for the time. Basically, I was hoping for AC2 to be to Tenchu what MGS is to 3rd person shooters.

If they can convince me that it won't be the same POS repeated THREE TIMES, then I might buy it.

Oh wait it's Ubisoft, that's all they know how to do...

I played the first and, while I acknowledge that it controls well, looks pretty and had an interesting story, I was utterly bored.

I have no idea why but I just didn't like it. Played it for a day or two and then left it.

I don't know why they have to go back to the Arabic setting. The basic storyline of the game could allow for a ton of different settings with the same basic gameplay premise. I am trying to avoid spoilers, here!

Did another site say so, or is my reading comprehension on this article totally dicked?

I read "It apparently looked similar to the first game, though set around the 15th century -- a few hundred years later" as it still taking place in the same Arabic setting.

I want to see "Ninja's Creed" :(

I've heard that it's taking place in France. The Italian name for eagle is a bit of a damper on this theory, but medieval europe still seems likely.

At first, I thought the game was really fun. Then after beating it twice, I thought it was boring. Then, after I traded it in, I had a terrible urge the play the game.

I miss it to this day. Great storyline and fun gameplay.

I'll probably do the same thing I did with the last Matrix movie: I'll ask someone how it ends, so I know how the story continues without actually suffering through the whole thing. And then when he tells me, I will be disappointed.

I'd like to know what happens to the bartender from the first one. Is he getting his memories extracted again or do they have to find some Italian dude (assuming it's being placed in Italy)?

Wow...judging from the ending I assumed that the next game would take place in an ancient mayan civilization or, more preferrably, in fuedal japan. Either way, both settings would have been awesome. But only a few hundreds years of a difference in basically the same setting? blah!

Honestly, I was kind of hoping it would take place in the PRESENT, in the big city. No more memory-extraction bullplop, but continue with the "real" part of the plot. That would have seemed really promising to me....but instead we'll probably get more of the same. :(

I hope it's the Capulets and Montagues. I'd be killing them for every English GCSE student in the country.

I heard this story but I swear I heard the setting was Venice. Imagine that, it would be amazing, considering they made Altair 'swim'. Venice has a lot of potential for free-running.

But still, I would prefer running across rooftops at night as a ninja on Yonaguni.

Does anyone remember the Bleeding effect from the 1st game.. where the guy gets Altairs powers by going in the Animus... and ill bet that seing as they're using memories that Altair had a son, and maybe in the next game you could play as his son. There is also the fact that Assasins came to help the guy, they could teach him now that he has his eagle vision. just think about it
