How do you know the new Street Fighter film, The Legend of Chun-Li, is going to be great? It's easy. Just check out the interview segment we just lifted from ComingSoon.net with stars Chris Klein and Kristin Kreuk.
"Q: Are any of you gamesters?
Chris Klein: [This is where Chris should have said "What the f**k is a gamester?" but he didn't, so he lost his chance to be on Joystiq.]
Kristin Kreuk: I've never been a gamer but I've seen a lot of Street Fighter and it was really popular when I was in late elementary school into high school so I'm very familiar with it. I've seen a lot of people play it."
So, no worries, everyone. She's watched people play. Also, even better news: Producer Ashok Amritraj says he hopes the movie is the beginning of a franchise! You know, we were never too crazy about Wednesdays, but this one's turning out to be just peachy.

It sounds like an offshoot of the Teamster Union. Video gamers now have their own union? Wow.

Here's the actual response for those of you who are too lazy to sauce dis shit.
Chris Klein: I've been known to play some videogames. I started my "Street Fighter 2" on Super Nintendo. That was the first "Street Fighter" that I played outside of the arcade. I wasn't good at it, not nearly as good as my peers, but I liked it. I remember it being the first one-on-one action fighting game that I really liked.

That's because it basically was the first.

Of course it's going to be a franchise. They're just making the first one to get it out of the way so they can make a "Street Fighter II" movie, which people will actually like. That will be followed by the "Street Fighter II Championship Edition" movie, followed by the "Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting" movie, and so on, and so on...

Isn't she simply stunning in that photo? Certainly does her justice by all means

If by stunning you mean how stunned I am that all that makeup isn't clogging her pores to a point where it would cause a heat stroke, yes, I'm stunned.

I'd say it was photoshopped a tad too much, but yeah...

I think that's a little more than make-up, there's some full on photoshopping going on there. Still hot though.

You can't see how scary that picture is? There's like 5 pounds of that crap on there, and she's trying to make it seem like it's a good thing.

Allow me to burst your bubble maverick.
Shes wearing:
False eyelashes
too much eye make-up
Too much makeup altogether
Fake eye brows (yes there is such a thing)
(probably fake hair as well)
and that pic has been airbrushed to hell.
I think she's wearing contacts as well.

Yes, I'm serious. Now, please hand in your heterosexual male card. Christ, what's with you (fellow) nerds?
Soooo, anytime you goons see a picture in Maxim or some similar commercial mag do you immediately recoil in disgust because heaven forbid, a commercial photograph has airbrushing and a lot of makeup?

No, I'm sure these guys are tapping WAY hotter chicks. They wouldn't lower themselves to admit that she is a very attractive girl.
Google her to see her without make up that was applied with a spoon, still hawt.

It doesn't matter if there is a ton of makeup on her face, Kristen Kreuk is undeniably hot.
And she's Canadian, which automatically ups the hotness.

When was make-up a bad thing?
.......Unless you look like Micheal Jackson, THEN you have a problem, and and if its used to hide your ugliness, I doubt shes as unpretty without make as shes made out to be :O

I don't know if I've ever seen such blatant airbrushing on someone's face before. Her face looks so fake in that photo, I'd almost think it was CG!

I occasionally watch "UFO Hunters" on the History channel.
As a result, you'll soon see me star in the 2012 remake of Aliens as Sigourney Weaver's love interest/elder care therapist. The film takes place in a futuristic casino oribiting Jupiter.

If I recall, both Wahlberg and Ward (Max Payne and Postal) both said they never actually played the movie's corresponding game. What ever happened to actors and actresses doing research for a role? I mean, I can understand if someone is in, say, a WWII movie, not going back in time for research. But, not playing video games when you can honestly claim it's for your job? Geez, now that's lazy....

I can't understand that.
And I can't "forgive" an actor for not researching a role, in general.

That's easy. Videogame movies, the actors are only in it if they want some extra dough or they just have a crap career. I doubt they care about what game the film is adapting.
WWII movies tend to have mandatory boot camp for the actors usually, and some do research the subject. Videogame movies.....do not.

All joking aside, does anyone really think her performance would be greatly enhanced if she actually played the game? It didn't exactly have a compelling story or tons of character development (other than Chun Li's thighs) to draw from.

I doubt any part of it will be good. Despite that, I will be checking it out so as to be able to review it for my site & podcast. I'm sure that's the main reason anyone will be seeing it.
That being said, someone from Joystiq should be assigned to do the same. However draws the short straw is forced to the theater.

She should play Street Fighter, and play Chun Li, or even watch a master fight with Chun Li, as it would let her get a feel for her character, a powerful and skilled female martial artist in a man's world who carries a tragic past and an important mission: yet also has the strength to smile for the camera in victory with a schoolgirl's glee!
AND THOSE THIGHS! I bet if she started kicking the air repeatedly to replicate Li's nigh-endless wall of kicks, she'd develop the Man Crushing thighs o'doom.
Crack a wallnut and a Man's skull with those things! Dayamn!
