Ex-Obsidian staffer's CV confirms Aliens RPG canceled

This is never how you want to get confirmation for a story, but we do what we must. Ex-Obsidian designer David Kondor's LinkedIn profile lists his involvement in a "canceled third-person action Aliens RPG (Xbox 360, PS3, & PC)." The listing lends credence to rumors of the game's cancellation, which circulated earlier this month. We still haven't heard back from Sega for official word, but we've put in another request for comment this morning.

Shame, an Aliens RPG actually sounded entertaining to me.

An aliens RPG wouldn't work anyway. Aliens is about tension and action, nothing of which you can get from an RPG, unless it was an action-RPG. But then, why not just add those features to Colonial Marines?

It was a doomed concept from the start, tbh.

What I want is a game like Left 4 Dead with Xenomorphs. That would be the coolest thing ever.

I can see something very interesting working in an RPG or action-RPG setting. It may not capture the same vibe as the movies or other games, but I'm fine with exploring different facets of the universe.

Wow...this really sucks. I don't understand why this incredible franchise consistently gets shat on in every form of media it's brought into. :(

I'm fully expecting an announcement at A:CM is canceled, too. Guess I'll just keep playing AvP2 since that's going to be the last Aliens-based game that ever releases. :(

Alien blood squirts. Anam takes 47 damage! Anam dies.

Damn, that pisses me off. An Aliens RPG sounded awesome. Does this mean Aliens: Colonial Marines has been canceled too?

Major disappointment.

I was so looking forward to a Fallout 3 type of RPG with Aliens.

BUMMER.

Why does this franchise continue to suffer unfairly??
