If you've found yourself fascinated by the Xbox 360's recently acquired ability to stream movies and TV programs off Netflix, but found yourself hesitant to subscribe to its pesky DVD delivery service in order to access said function, we've got great news. Netflix has apparently recognized your reservations, and is planning on implementing a "streaming only" subscription in the "foreseeable future."
The demand for such a subscription plan is clear. Netflix, which offers over 12,000 titles on its streaming service, saw a great deal of unexpected growth last quarter thanks to the popularity of streaming programming -- we'd wager most of that came from the 360s Netflix app. No word on the release date or pricing of the stand-alone streaming subscription -- without the hassle of postage fees, we'd wager it'll see a nice discount from the standard $8.99 monthly plan.

I pirate everything online and it's completely free. Purchasing content is for suckers!

Well hopefully, it'll be the price of one disc per month.
Then again, we should have gotten it free with our Gold sub...

i just canceled my membership movies took to long to get to my house and i watched everything i wanted to on instant so if they boost the instant watch library (new episodes of current seasons) and price it at $5 or lower i'll give it another try

If Netflix expands their Watch Instantly catalog, I'm not sure they'd have to charge less than $8.99 for a subscription. Just look at the recent survey Netflix sent out asking customers if they'd pay an extra $9.99 for HBO shows.

Agreed. Streaming on the 360 is why I picked it up. If they could partition the service for streamed moves, mailed games....I am so in.

If you have NetFlix be sure to check out www.FeedFlix.com. You can track your NetFlix usage. My cost per movie is around $0.42 cents right now.

I personally love the streaming selection on Netflix, and would happily accept a lower price point for streaming only. It never hurts to have options.
