They're bringing the first three updates out in a big package for 360 so we don't have to shell out five or ten bucks every time they come out with an update. That said, I've been craving these so much that i might have paid for all of them if they had released them simultaneously.

Switching weapons took me forever to figure out. You have to switch your main weapon, then hit B.

Thanks for the heads-up, I actually wasn't aware of that.

Would've gotten screwed over many a time assuming that since my "teammate" is not carrying his primary non-unlockable, he's on my team.

Yeah, it was too much of a giveaway s they changed it. Now it's even MORE obvious as people who don't know this still have their switchblade out.

However, using ammo to recharge cloak is bit improvement to the spy class. It's worth playing now.

That almost makes it easier to detect spies running around. How often do you see classes running around with their melee weapon drawn?

I like playing spy, and I don't mind the change (it is a little more to manage, but it is a great asset if used correctly - makes it easier to disguise as medic or engie for sure), but I know it is something I will forget about when I am hunting for backstabs and I will get shot my someone who is wondering why I am running around with my melee weapon out.

Bonk is worthless.
The sandman completely breaks the Uber mechanic.
Force- A- Nature is pretty cool tho.

"Bonk is worthless".

No,you douchebag (Never forgive never forget and you totally deserve it).

It can help you to pass sentries in 2fort.I'm not sure if it works even if you are carrying the intelligence tho'.

It doesn't last long enough to be worth the slowdown. . .
I'm actually not sure how long it's SUPPOSED to last, but if you activate it and stand by a med-cabinet, it doesn't go away for some reason. While under heavy fire, it seems to last 7 seconds or so.

It will be much more useful when the servers arent clogged with scouts methinks. Most scouts using it now get gunned down on their slowdown time, but, if used smartly, it is a great way to sneak past sentries (unless the engie is proactive enough to then hunt you down) and stickie traps.
Its usefulness will be very map dependent in any case.

Bonk does have a big use to those cocky scouts who run past all the action at first cap points and want to get a headstart on the second. And it can also get you out early spamming on dustbowl and any payload maps.

The weapons are more balanced than I thought. I was watching a video and the Sandman (Awesome Taunt kill) effect isn't as broken as I thought it would be and the kick of the Force-a-nature isn't as strong as the Compressed Air of the Pyro's Flamethrower.

The Bonk! energy drink well I’m a bit disappointed with this one, I thought the effect would last a bit longer and the drawback would be standing still for a while or moving really slow like the heavy. It last a few seconds and the scout moves at a regular speed.

New stuff review:

Force-A-Nature : The only no brainer IMO. More powerful then the scatter gun, faster to fire, the kick back is good for getting enamies out of your face and it allows a truly mighty tripple jump! However, that reload time is a killer. It might be worth holding onto the pistol rather then wait for it to reload.

Sandman : When used with the FAN, this is truly deadly. BONK! BAM! BAM! DEAD! The new taught you get with this is epic too if you get it to connect with a zoned out sniper. HOWEVER, you WILL miss the ability to double jump. All those shortcuts you've got used to are GONE. Just keep that in mind.

BONK Energy Drink : For something that gives you invincibility, it's not that useful. You can't attack when you're buzzing, and everyone you've run past is waiting for you to crash and will easily pick you off when you slow down. Add to the fact that if you're using the FAN, you REALLY want to have the pistol handy. This is the kind of thing you would only equip if the situation called for it. Points are added for the Six Million Dollar Man noise the scout makes when he's high.

Force-A-Nature actually isn't more powerful per shot than the scattergun. It deals 20% less damage per pellet than the scattergun, but has two extra pellets for a total of 12. This makes it deal roughly 96% of the scattergun's damage at point blank, but makes it significantly less powerful at longer range.

The deadliness comes from it's ability to fire 2 shots in rapid succession (but you have to hit them twice)

For me, the scatter gun always seemed to take more time to reload though just because of the size of the clip. I was actually surprised how quick the reload was for the FAN at release, but point being I guess is that it just fits my playstyle - 2 quick shots, dodge to cover to reload, 2 more quick shots, etc., moving in and out of cover. FAN is a revolution for me.

Sandman is nice, but I'd like to see multiple bonks if the ball ricochet's onto another player. Double jump is sorely missed but damned worth the penalty when combined with the FAN.

Bonk needs to allow scouts to fire while buzzed, and run while buzzed in first person mode in order to make it effective when a) defending and b) on most maps in general.

hehe, yeah, that was my last big online love. I'm clearly more a fan of class based games over mindless deathmatches.

Just go as a heavy, and mow all the bloody scouts down. It's fun, and you'll get achievements too :) As a newbie, you'll have the medic, pyro, heavy and scount stuff to unlock, so take your pick.

Most of the servers I play on limit the scout to 3 per team, but thats on larger 24-28 player servers. They foresaw this!

and you have many achievements to unlock. I'd be overwhelmed by how many there are. think that globally I have about 93% of them and all weapons. But byyygard it took a long time. How many are there now, 150?!

I got bonked the first freaking game I went into, he obliterated me the next moment. As for spies being able to use any weapon for disguise it really doesn't change anything. I don't know anybody in TF2 that doesn't spy check every damn second no matter what, and yesterday was even worse because everybody knew the weapons could change. So every body was firing at friendlies that came in even if they just went out the minute before.

Needless to say spies were getting nowhere.

Yep, spies are still the best underrated class - I cannot tell you how gratifying it is to backstab 3 people in a row going to the point and have them suffer 20 second respawns. Spy still needs a buff though :)

Should see the massive complaining from the spy community, it is just pure hysterics.

They get a back stab that not only works properly, but at a faster recharge and speed too.

But at the cost of face and side stabs, which apparently is 'critical' to the spy to learn and use.

So they would rather have a BROKEN class just so that they didn't have to relearn how to play the spy properly.

Thank god.

The backstab has had soooo many things wrong with it since day one (the face/side stabs and the way the actual backstab animation seems to cause missed stabs - hitting a fast, strafing target is kind of a crapshoot)
