I think all the Queers should be kicked off anyway. There should be a survey kinda like you fill out when you give blood. It asks if you have had sex with someone of the same sex as you. LMAO!! Cause everyone know that you can't have a Homo in the Army.

I think profiles should have built in ages and be peered only with people of the same age group. I think there are a lot more grown ups on xboxlive than kids. It may also cut down on the number of times some random kid starts emptying a clip into me during Left 4 Dead.

coinsidering how guys on XBL fall all over themselves when a hot girl joins a session (Hoisin I feel sorry for you) I wouldn't be surprised if the girl was straight and just called herself a lesbian to make guys leave her alone. I get really depressed in my faith of humanity sometimes when I'm subjected to the stupid hordes on XBL.

No time, Toulouse!

SO some lesbian gets banned and this makes big news?

Why does it matter, who cares if everyone else is happy. She probably wasn't good anyway and trashtalked a lot (or annoyed people)

People don't get banned/harassed for nothing.

And why did she feel the need to have that on her profile exactly? I have xbox live to play games, not to tell people if i am gay or straight, there's just no need for it, and i feel that she has got the reaction that she was after.

Actually, I can see why she'd put it in her XBL profile.

She's female. It's XBL. The moment any of the tween/teen turds on there hear her feminine voice, they'll start asking her personal info, asking if she'd be their girlfriend.

This happens in just about every game played online. Anyone registers as actually female, and in many cases just happens to have a female avatar.... everything with an outie and not an inny down below will start heavy-breathing and trying to get in her pants.

This is nothing new.

I'm sure she wanted to avoid this by prematurely adding something to her XBL profile that basically says, "No, I do NOT like boys."

Sad.

"The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Deformation (GLAAD) has also weighed in on the story, mentioning it is working with Toulouse with regards to Live -- and SCEA on its Home policies."

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you meant "defamation" and not "deformation". I'm pretty sure that trying to deform anybody is not a nice thing to do and will land you in the pokey.

I think it is wrong that people trolled her, but I don't agree that homosexuality is right. And no, don't automatically assume that I hate homosexuals. Some people I know live that way. It doesn't mean I don't love them.

I guess I can say a pedophile is just born that way as well? They can't help that they like little kids!

Oh man, ok try this:

Why do you like women? Why do you like sex? Think about yourself first before projecting. Would you ever compare your own longings to a pedophiles? If not, why?

Every argument you've just come up with to defend yourself can be used to defend the other side. You are no exception, you are not imaculate.

GLAAD stands for The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, not "Deformation"... Hunchbacks can be gay, too.

I hope this resolved quickly and I'd like to see Therssa compensated for this, like a free Gold membership for a year at least.

And to those people who used her sexual orientation to insult and harass her, you're pathetic and need to get a life. She has every right to live her life as she sees fit.

Why should she get compensated if she clearly broke the ToS?

If what she did is breaking the ToS, then the ToS is broken; and clearly Microsoft agrees since they are looking at changing the wording of the ToS as a result of this incident.

I don't go around shouting i'm straight, why do gays and lesbians feel the need to let the whole world know their orientation? They want to be treated equally but they wear their preference like a fucking flag.

@ EJ

Why not allow homosexuals to identify themselves? Through avatars we can express our gender, ethnicity, weight, and height. Why not be able to express something else that uniquely identifies us?

Minorities tend to identify publicly as their minority status. A straight white male probably would never say offright that they're that. They'd be considered "normal."

She probably only identified herself as gay to cause controversy anyway.

Like a troll on a forum, baiting others into a response.

It's like saying on your gamertag that you are a neo-nazi or KKK member.

It's been reprinted and reworded on just about every major gaming site..Complete bullshit, but sure makes for a good beat-up and titillating headline right guys? Yeah.

I do not give a rats ass if you're gay, nor should your personality be so desperately thin so as to somehow force you to BASE your very identity on your sexuality that you feel the need to advertise the fact on your gamer profile, get a personality and a life that's about more than the type of genitals you prefer to play with.
Nuff' said.

Why is that your sexual orientation has to do with "sex"(in the "sexual" context)? I mean, if a child doesn't know what the hell it means, and they asked their parents, is it really that hard to just say that it's a man/woman, that love another man/woman? They don't have to go in to details.

The problem here isn't the fact shes a lesbian. I don't think anybody here cares all too much, dis-regarding the banned person her-self. But that is the problem, nobody cares, but herself. She WANTS attention paid to her via promoting her sexuality. She is known as a 'Gay-Out-Loud', in my opinion, one of the most vial scum of this green earth. Unless she is an idiot, which I presume she is not, she dis-regarded the terms of rules INTENTIONALLY to promote her sexuality for either attention or a relasionship, both of which are despicable reasons. Why doesnt she simply change it, forgive XBox live for the disruption and return to using XBox Live for its true reason - playing games.

As much as it annoys me, i'm siding on microsoft on this. I'm all for gay rights and stuff, but on a game network that has ALOT of people on it, we really don't need to know your sexual orientation, nor do we want it advertised right in our faces. Your gay, thats great good for you, I don't care, don't shove it in my face.

Oh almost forgot to add, with all the derogatory comments she was getting, that could have all been solved if she removed her sexual orientation from her profile. Doesn't change who she is, change the fact that she's a lesbian, or mean that she's trying to hide it from the world or anything. It just means you removed something from your gamer profile that has nothing to do with who you are or what games you like to play or how you like to play them, its completely irrelavent to put that fact in your gamer profile.

I know she broke a rule but for the people to be offended to read her profile, find something they didn't like and follow her and report her must be scum because by not going elsewhere and carrying on with normal gaming they insist they are some sort of "god" who decides that someone they don't agree with in sexuality must be hounded from xbox live like they themselves are ultimate law, wow its so funny to see how idiotic some people can be when they choose to Pi*s everyone they don't like method.

My hands don't work that well any more after an accident, I like to play online.

I bought Call of duty 4 and made it to the end in story mode and wanted to play online. After the first week of playing online with Call of Duty 4

I was told to get off the game by many players, to my surprise my player rep had dropped by thirty points I would not have known this had one of the players told me he had helped make it drop and his clan would have me banned by the end of the week if I did not stop playing the game.

I now have as a result of this

25 unsupportive
12 quits early

I quit like they asked me to and I picked up quits early you can't win

I had my gamer tag set to recreation

Playing for fun.

I called the support line were I found a out source operator from India how did not care and felt I should not be playing the game and I should fine some thing else and maybe I should play off line.

I asked to speak to an American operator, he replied is there any thing else I can help you with.

I was out raged

I dont play Call of duty on line any more as a result.

The cheaters and glitchers do rule Xbox live and good people get banned quick if you are good enough or are different

Vanquish:

People do get banned/harassed for do nothing and being different.

I listen to people in chat groups talk about it "Battlefeild Bad Compnay"

When the round ended I got out and considered my self lucky I did not get taged with bad feed back from one of them. 2 weeks ago someone asked me if I was retarded or some thing I told them I had problems with my hands I quit at the end of the round again.

This is the whole point

Go to your profile scroll down and look at your rep. is it 100%

Now I tell people about it and let them know about this.

Isn't the point to Xbox to have fun and not to have to worry about getting banned

I selected recreation I find my self matched with every thing else but this group.

Why is this.

I am sure this female just wanted to have fun as well, I dont care about her orientation

I could have lots of people banned based on their gammer tags, tags that promote drugs, anal sex, rape muder... etc these all brake the rules

As I see them I should start to list them here, lets get them banned as well I dont even have to track them down them they find me and trash talk me in games.

They are big and bad because they can hide online and hit your profile with out being seen like the little cowards they are.

They can call you names and you can't see who they are and they would never have the guts to say it to your face. They can rally othery gamers together and have you banned just by spreding the word and yes it works jsut that fast and just that easy.

Vanquish & Tungsten Plug: I am sure you are one of the guilty party as well at one time or another judge jury and profile slayer because you felt they needed it because you felt they did not fit in to your neat little xbox profile world.

Every rule should have a "sense" test. If it's stupid, it needs to be ignored.

Good rules: Don't impose on anyone else's rights (to comfort, life and so on).

Bad rules: Especially in an environment where rulebreakers need to be reported to be caught, a rule that tries to hide a big part of many peoples' identity. Even if it's controversial for no good reason.

Nobody should have to be afraid to be different, or be forced to hide what they may perceive as a fundamental part of their identity.

If you disagree, you should examine the reasons behind your feelings on this.
