Ahh, if I still cared for MMOs, I'd be all over this. I loved CoH. I love anything with a level editor. It's like a Reese's Cup for me!

Wouldn't this potentially create a huge imbalance if they take control of the loop and XP?

Yeah, expect to see levels built explicitly for the purpose of fast, easy xp/recipes/salvage.

The keywords here are simulation and within. I think you will only be to use said loot within the simulation.

That still means you could be power level like a mofo possibly, though.

They don't actually have control over the loot, or the XP.

Enemies give the same XP that they would outside of the editor, and you "loot" has never been an issue in CoH/V. The only thing that this really does is allows players to arrange missions, mission objectives, and the flavor text before/during/after the missions, not change anything about how the game is played, or what the game will reward you with.

But you can still overload enemy spawns with lots of controllable guys that you can mow down to farm XP.

I'm all for it. Anything that actually gives players what they want instead of only what will keep them subscribing.

I don't play any MMO's. The concept makes my heart pitter patter, but I can't justify paying a monthly fee for a single game. I understand the need for the model, but I won't pick one up till an F2P comes out that really entices me.

This is, however, is really cool and seems to be a whole lot more than a simple level editor. I think we are going to see this idea a whole lot more in the future. And though they didn't come anywhere close to pioneering the idea, I think we can thank the success of LBP for the future of customizable gaming.

Turn this knob and a room filled with 1 million things worth 100 XP each will instantly die. You'll be a god!

I'll just wait till DC online comes out. I'm over City of Heroes.

All I wonder is that this is very similar to LBP.
