Those of you who find yourself reminiscing about the "good ole days" of the first Skate game, we've got something you'll likely be interested in: EA has unleashed a new DLC pack for Skate 2 called "Classic San Van." Featuring a variety of locales from the first game, Skate 2 players will now be able to shred it up in classic spots such as the Parkade (yes!), the School (italicized yes!), and the Community Center (bold yes!), all while utilizing the new tricks found in the sequel. The DLC even places some objects for you to move around in each area, as you can see in the video above.
Skate 2's"Classic San Van" DLC pack is available now on Xbox Live Marketplace and PSN for 400 and $4.99, respectively.
I kid you not, I was just thinking about Skate 2 and I was wishing they would release some of the skate 1 map. I am not lying. Then I happened to click on Joystiq and I saw this. Freaky.
For me, Skate 2 is that game where I find myself sitting down to play for just a hour and end up playing for more then 3 hours. However I can't bring myself to buy the DLC when I'm not even close to being bored with the standard map.
I was thinking about picking up Skate 1 and 2 (I've never played either, but not looking back at it, it looks like two gems I've messed), but now with this coming out should I just skip the first game and buy this DLC for the second one?
I've never bought any DLC ever. This will be my first- I loved the added controls of skate 2, but thought the level design of skate. was much better and slightly more realistic. This is awesome!
Last week's Skate 2 add-on included achievements for 360 but no trophies for PS3. If they don't add trophies for both packs today I'm not buying either. Why should I support them when then don't support PS3 users? I bet if trophies weren't mandatory for full games they wouldn't have included them on the disc release either. If they do add them today then I'll take back what I just said.
No, because I'm pissed off that they delivered a substandard product on PS3 with Skate 1, did the same thing again with Skate 2, no custom soundtrack for PS3, now no trophies for the DLC. I don't feel like giving them any more money. Other companies go the extra mile for their customers, these guys are doing the bare minimum and I'm not gonna reward them for it.
This is a great pack so far. Still skating the Community Center, several geometry changes have been made so that the area flows better. There's now an extra drop-in spot for the reservoir on the opposite end of the old drop-in spot, in the middle of the bank with the fence on top.
This is awesome. I was surprised by how much area we got for $5 in the Fantasy Factory DLC. I hope we keep getting more similarly price content over the course of the next year. A hall of meat themed area would be awesome (Similar to the bowling/darts section of the first Flatout game)
Note to all Joystiq writers: You know you can put the xbox.com link for DLC in you stories right? Then do it!
skate 2 is honest to god one of the worst games I've every played.. skate simple wipes the floor with it. the controls, ui, and graphics are all significantly WORSE in the sequel.. that aside, this dlc looks promising for all those that missed out on the game first time round.
More Skate 2 DLC, yay! I loved those spots in the first one, this is great news and the $5 price tag makes it EVEN better! Be picking this up as soon as I grab some more points!
