So now you're stuck with barbaric dual-analog controls for FPS and Strategy games. Good work son!

I know that Unreal Tournament 3 for the PS3 has support for a keyboard and mouse so I can't understand why more console games simply can't support a USB keyboard and mouse. : /

Yeah, I hear ya - I have a really nice gaming PC, and, after fighting for the past week to get Mass Effect to actually run correctly, I'm just about to give up. The main reason I use my PC over my PS3 is because I get better graphics, sound, and input (mouse + keyboard better for fpses), but, after wasting time with multiple craptastic ports, I'm just about done with PC gaming.

Funny, every PC dev says piracy is killing the platform - maybe it's the fact that people don't want to waste time fighting with glitchy, poorly ported console titles and they just buy the console version.

Then these programmers suck and are lazy plain and simple. It shows they want to challenge their own skills. its not 1989 anymore. game system will only become more complex as the years go by. I don't see the God of war dudes complaining. and their game will pw0n .

programmers who complain are just babies, who just suck.

Well damn

I'll buy the games made by developers that actually like my system of choice.

I'm sure he'll make tons of money on the PC, he should stay there and not even bother looking at the PS3 or 360.

"The man was venting his fustratings whats the problem"

Hey, he's complaining about the PS3 because it is different from the PC.

Hey, I can relate, I complain about Corel (insertnamehere) because it is different from Adobe (insertnamehere). So to me, the Corel product is crap. So I avoid Corel like the plague.

Solution seems simple to me, he should go to developing on the PC and stay FAAAAAAAAARRRRRR away from other platforms.

Lord knows that I don't give a crap about anything this guy worked on, so he won't be missed over here.

The biggest thing I learned from this thread is that there's a guy named "required" who has to reply to every single post with some simpleton slam (that he thinks is) against Microsoft. Seems like MS ate his first born or something.

Some of you are associating less power with easy to program on. The Wii has less power than the PS3 and 360. I don't need to tell anyone here that. At least I thought, until you get comments here like, then why don't they program on the Wii? That's like saying, why don't they make Gears of War on the gamecube? It still surprises how many people think Wii is a next-gen system. It's just a pimped out gamecube. Nintendo knew this, they put all their chips on the innovative controls and it paid off BIG time!

The Wii has absolutely nothing to do with this story.

The brutal truth hurts sometimes. I'm just glad that some people qualified to know it still have the courage to spell it out. Sony was able to get away unscathed with a difficult system to program in the PS2 days, because of the lack of any real competition. This time around, they're battling what amounts to a gaming PC from 3 years ago (the 360). Most game programmers cut their teeth on PCs, so it's only natural that they would find the 360 so much easier to deal with. Easier means shorter dev time. Time is money, so shorter time means cheaper.

Leading on the PS3 rather than the 360 is definitely the right approach, if the dev is determined to release on both consoles. Criterion did exactly that with the technically perfect Burnout: Paradise. They're reaping the rewards for that now (EA is, anyway, though all cred goes to Criterion). But smaller independent devs may see the PS3 as too much of a hassle and expense. Example: Jonathan Blow with Braid.

PS3 == pain in the ass, PC == shitty controls, 360 == great controls, Wii == needs more games, DS == fun hand held, PSP == joke.

Well, the best games in this gen are a good split for both systems (it seems to be more-or-less even percentage wise for the two "modern" systems), so feel free to bitch as long as your game doesn't suck.
