World at War receives free 'Makin Day' DLC, gets patched

Available today, courtesy of developer Treyarch, is a new patch for Call of Duty: World at War as well as a free multiplayer map. The map isn't exactly new, but could be especially satisfying for soldiers who prefer battling without the cover of night.

The new "Makin Day" map is a remake of current World at War offering Makin, with a generous splash of the sun's daylight glow. The map is installed automatically with the PlayStation 3 version of the patch and Xbox 360 users can grab the free content via the Xbox Live Marketplace. Speaking of the patch, a list of platform-specific updates (Xbox 360 / PS3) can be viewed on the official World at War forums. We're sure "Rocket Jumpers" will be none too pleased to discover their special ability has been taken away.

P.s Thank god they fixed the map exploits. i can start playing WaW again.

Doesn't TreyArch believe in play testing games before releasing them? And weren't several of these issues reported back when the beta was released to the public?

Excellent...hate those stupid morons who try to jump where they aren't supposed to instead of, you know, trying to shoot the opposition. It's great playing domination when three of the six players on your team are hopping on each other's backs and whatnot.

I think I'm gonna like Makin daytime better than Makin at night...tough to see who's floating around in the water.

A) Treyarch isn't the only developer to release games with glitches.

B) Pretty much every game has glitches.

C) I'd rather get my hands on a game with a few glitches than wait another six months for a fix before it's released.

You obviously haven't played SOCOM Confrontation.

So its Makin in the day time? I love variety and its nice they aren't attempting to charge us for this, but I would be worried because the style of that map was originally designed for night time. This should be fun though, as I can't really complain about free W@W multiplayer DLC! Wooo!

I didn't see anything on the list about fixing the horrible spawn points.

I think that's asking too much...we won't see any massive repairs until possibly COD6.

If they weakened the overpowered mp40 and took out all of the grenade perks, I might think about it.

Well atleast it's on all platforms.. I'm still miffed about the PC CoD4 alternative style maps never getting to the consoles.

Well, I may actually treat this game to a single spin, and then silent play in my 360 again. And... I may even enjoy it now that I won't get shot from underneath.

Huge props to Treyarch for this! I was hoping you'd include it in the upcoming DLC as a bonus, but this is even better!

Just read the list of updates/fixes... great work.

Hopefully this will quiet some of the haters and complainers because it clearly shows you were listening to the community about the problems/exploits.

Looking forward to some COD:WaW this weekend!

lol... there is still glitches in this map all the other maps
you cant stop people from finding glitches...lol
