You've obviously never played the drum career in GH:WT. Or bass for that matter.

@ VPhoenix

I honestly think rock band's drum charts are better and much more pleasing to the eyes...
but yeah the bass is better in ghwt...at least more fun if not that accurate to the actual chart

No doubt Activision makes more money on the peripherals than they do on the game itself. So, no big surprise here.

Shame though.

It's been almost three months since HMX said they would get the LIPS mikes to work, but they still have not done it. So GH:WT not doing it is moot until RB DOES come through.

It's not moot to me! I want support in both games for the Lips mics.

I don't know if you can just hand this one to Rock Band 2. It's been three months and they haven't said anything about this patch. Harmonix also promised to patch in online world tour support into Rock Band 1, and we ended up having to wait around for the sequel. I wouldn't be surprised if Lips* mic support was saved for the Beatles game... or maybe even Rock Band 3. I would love to be wrong, though!

*The peripheral's official name is the Xbox 360 Wireless Microphone, which means that Microsoft wants it to be the standard mic for all singing games on the platform. It's a shame that these companies won't get their acts together.

It's a shame, Activision has always had a problem with people using the controllers they aready own with Rock Band or Rock Band game controllers on their games. If Activisions was smart, they would produce and market their controllers to work with all/most other music games to push the after market sales. I mean how many drums sets does anyone need or have the room for? Activision needs release a cordless mic or play nice with others and support the wireless mic from Microsoft. EA needs to push to get the patch out soon, three months since the anouncement is a long time. That way when friends come over and the booze starts to flow, it would be nice to have one less cord for the drunks to trip over. Or in the case of households with kids in it, one less cord for them to trip over as they go crazy (don't give kids the booze) on the game.

I'm a huge PS3 gamer (I'm not going to say anything like a fanboy/girl statement,) but this reminds me of the time when Harmonix kept delaying the patch to let the Gibson Les Paul Controller work on the original Rock Band for PS3, when the Les Paul already worked on the 360 (and on the PS2 with its equivalent to the Les Paul,) and they didn't release it for almost a year after the game came out.

This also reminds me of the time when Activision didn't allow Fender controller support in Guitar Hero III on any console.

I hope that one day the Lips Mics will as compatible as the Singstar ones now (The Lips ones do look cooler than the Singstar ones, though. I guess I will have to wait for the wireless ones coming out next month.

Hmmm, I guess this means the next guitar hero comes with a wireless mic.

Not really surprising, this is after all, Activision we are talking about. Shame all the same, i hope one day they change their mind and patch support for it.

Yeah if I was a rock band fan I would be making a big deal out of this and bitching about it too
