Oh no fucking way! I heard that this sucker is only going to be 2-4 hours long. And the gameplay is just punch punch punch until the end. Unless the story in the game is proven to be a great suppliment to the movie, I ain't payin' that much for this.

Us gamers are getting raped like Sally Jupiter.

Right because charging a little too much for a game is comparable to sexual assault.

I know you're trying to make a joke, but I'm not laughing.

neuromancer,

Seriously? Well, if you're gonna get all sensitive and offended, maybe you should change your sentence.

Wow... seems high. Reviews will make or break this one for me. Probalby a no, though, unless I just have NOTHING to play. Especially if this comes in under 4 hours for one playthrough.

we are the ones to blame we pay for them...it started at 800 points we all paid, then 1200 we all paid, now 1600 people will pay and if sales are good the next time it'll be 2000 ...so unless we as consumers stop buying overpriced DLC the price will continue to rise---PEACE $ LOVE ----PLAY FOR FUN

I really wish Penny Arcade hadn't set this precedent, $20 is a little steep. I'll still check out the trial version though.

I didn't buy Penny Arcade either. $20 for short downloadable titles is a ripoff.

I paid $30 for Warhawk and it has been worth that many times over since it's multiplayer and they've expanded the hell out of it with DLC.

Let's see how much the crappy looking Punisher game will cost.

Making the movie is bad enough. I'm going to see it and I'm probably going to love it because it looks like they're deconstructing new superhero cliches what the book did to old cliches, but it also looks like it's getting a tad butchered in the process.

The movie of the game of the book feels like a step too far, and $20 puts it out of morbid curiosity range.

Eh, pass. My slightest interest in a game gets shot down by overpricing. Even if the pricing is justified, I'll probably still pass.

Man, I was going to think about buying it at 10 dollars.... but at 20.. that's just ridiculous.. this kind of thing should be free to promote the movie.. That is what it was made to do in the first place, promote.

20 bucks for 2 hours... that's 10 dollars an hour... most teen gamers make like 7 dollars an hour..

+1.

The price is too steep for a game that barely sounded good to start with. I really wanted to like this game because of the subject, but the gameplay has sounded too lame to then be overcharged for. I may grab it when the price dips, dunno though.

I'm one who has defended, and purchased, a number of games and their price (Penny Arcade, Braid, Crayon Physics, World of Goo), but this seems a little ridiculous. I just haven't seen anything out of this game that makes me think that it's going to be a top notch experience. If you're going to charge the premium price for your downloadable game, it damn well better bring something to the table other than a well known license.

Right, exactly. I don't mind the high price... if there's enough content there and the quality is high enough to justify the price. Nothing I've read or seen regarding this game leads me to believe it justifies that price-point even a little.

Yeah, exactly. I'm just barely willing to pay $15 for extremely unique, high-quality games like Braid and Castle Crashers (got Penny Arcade for the Mac, as it's one of the few new games that'll play on my old laptop). But for a short, not hugely interesting beat-em-up? Bleh. Le Epic, Le Fail!

But the sad thing is... While I think $15 is a totally fair price for a great title like Castle Crashers (yes, yes, online co-op---get some real friends, dorks!), I can see how the developers of Watchmen, and their mothers, all think their game really is just that wonderful, and totally deserving of love and money. And more to the point, if there's a perception that $10 is a "ghetto" title, it becomes increasingly unpopular as a price point, which is really a shame, because that's exactly what most XBLA titles are worth. That's not a bad thing---I definitely got $10 of entertainment out of Switchball or Sealife Safari---but it's a big difference from $20.

Won't be getting just like I didn't get Penny Arcade. I was actually going to get this since I got the free watchmen tickets with my MS points purchase at best buy. From waht I've seen before it looks like a cheap beat em up. Like if they took the watchmen title it looks like one of those straight to bargain bin games.

But I'm one to talk. I nearly spent $150 to dress up as The Dude once.

Forgive the tired old cliche, but i think its appropriate here....

FAIL! You dont even have to print the game on disc you know, distribution is free, the cheaper it is the more it sells!
Epic fail, Warner Bros.

I would suggest taking that $20 and buying the graphic novel if you don't own it already. I picked up a nice edition at Barnes & Noble or $19 a few weeks ago.

I'm not familiar with the Watchmen. Is that one character supposed to be Batman? It looks like a Batman rip off. I'm not sure if was originally Batman but because of IP rights they couldn't get the official Batman costume.
