WRUP: Tweeting the Twitters edition
The industry seems to be getting comfortable -- in that nervous sort of way -- with
Twitter. The whole 140 character phenomenon definitely cemented itself recently when "tweeting" became part of publisher non-disclosure agreements. More than a fair share of game
companies and
press have accounts now. We've been doing it for a bit too. So, everyone on staff with an account will also have their Twitter account listed next to their name in this week's WRUP. Oh, and if you want to know our main account, it's @
Joystiq, of course.
- Alexander Sliwinski (@XanderSliwinski): Going to try and finish the frustration that is Mirror's Edge. If I get sick of dying a billion times I'll move on to Tomb Raider: Underworld.
- Andrew Yoon: Finishing Resident Evil 5. Did you know when you **** *** game, you ****** *********** ****? Glad to hear the rumors weren't true.
- Ben Gilbert (@BigBossBgilbert): Other than playing "Fortify my house from 50 Cent," I'll be spending my time crashing full speed directly into walls in Paradise City. I should probably finish MGS4 and get started on Halo Wars as well. It's going to be a busy weekend, no bout adoubt it.
- Christopher Grant (@ChrisGrant): Yes, I'm still on Halo Wars. No, it's not that long of a game, I've just been distracted. Also, I'm debating on whether or not to get 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand overnighted with Saturday delivery so JMac and I can fight helicopters together this weekend, or sticking with regular shipping. Advice?
- David Hinkle (@davehinkle): I've been shredding it up in some Skate 2 with the "Classic San Van" and "Fantasy Plaza" DLC, so I'll probably go achievement hunting there some. Also been knee-deep in FEAR 2, and trying to finish that. Oh, and I nabbed both Oddworld games from Steam, so I want to plow through those sometime this weekend. Then there's Gears of War 2. If my shotgun doesn't have so many liters of blood per day, it goes through withdrawal.
- Dustin Burg (@SuperDunner): Continuing my quest for Halo 3 achievements on the new Mythic maps. That be about it.
- Griffin McElroy (@griffinmcelroy): What do you think? Do I seem like a quitter to you? Of course not. I'm catching them all, son.
- James Ransom-Wiley: Just catching up on some endangered species that need killin and some stupid old pots that need smashin. Gawd, the things I gotta put up with to get the treasure ...
- Jason Dobson (@eToyChest): Like Randy, I'll be doing double shots of Street Fighter IV and Killzone 2, flexing thumbs and living out dreams of machismo vicariously through the living room t.v.
- Jem Alexander (@Yembles): This weekend's distraction will be Prinny: Can I Really Be The Bloody Hard Game? on Hardcore mode. Once I get bored of dying every 20 seconds I might switch down to Casual mode, but I can't help feeling like that would be cheating ...
- JC Fletcher: (Continuing his quest to create real Pokémon.)
- Justin McElroy (@JustinMcElroy): I'm crossing my fingers that Resident Evil 5 is going to come in today, barring that I might play some more ... Lord of the Rings Conquest. Shut up.
- Kevin Kelly (@gadgetguy): I'm still hitting The Lost and Damned and messing up rival biker gangs. I just have to resist the urge to shoot just about everyone. I also slipped Halo 3 back in for some reason, and I've been trying to get through all the songs on Guitar Hero World Tour. My drum set arrives tomorrow. Hooray!
- Ludwig Kietzmann (@LudwigK): I've got Killzone 2, FEAR 2, Halo Wars, Street Fighter IV, the Halo 3 Mythic Map Pack and House of the Dead: Overkill to keep me busy this weekend. PLOT TWIST: But I'll probably be playing more Spider-Man: Web of Shadows.
- Majed Athab: Still trying to figure out Noby Noby Boy.
- Randy Nelson (@DangerPenguin):Street Fighter IV and Killzone 2 -- double impact! Be on the lookout for me: I'll be the one killing you. (But mostly blowing myself up!)
- Richard Mitchell (@SenseiRAM): Still determined to finish Far Cry 2. It just ... keeps ... going. Also playing the recently updated Team Fortress 2. Hopefully, I'll put in some more time with Mirror's Edge as well.
- Xav de Matos (@Xav): I'm playing the moving game. It's slow, has poor level design and doesn't include achievements or trophies. It stinks. Later I'll be playing more Street Fighter IV and some Killzone 2.
- Justin Glow (@justinglow): In Soviet Russia: Glow makes Justin.
