I guess they figure there's no point in announcing anything anymore, when its just going to get out way beforehand anyway.

What they should do is add character customization a la Rainbow Six Vegas 2.

Oh yea that's true I guess, then they should expand upon the weapon customization, which i'm pretty sure they plan on doing anyway :P

While we're at it, how about some finite terrorists? I was sick and tired of those clown houses in CoD4.Even W@W was a little bit less obnoxious about it and that's saying something.

You'd still have the personal satisfaction...

Also you'd see it if they add replays. Which would be awesome.

Of course, then you'd need to set up your character for each of the factions you can play as in multiplayer. Not exactly difficult, but it's a lot to keep track of, depending on how many options you're given.

But that's the CoD formula! Throw infinitely respawning waves of enemies at you until you're lucky enough to advance without getting killed!

What's not to like?

I agree. COD isn't Rainbow Six. Finite enemies wouldn't enhance the game any. All I want (literally...ALL I want) is the same gameplay mechanics, a couple more gunship levels, and a few more spec ops levels where you blitz unsuspecting baddies like on the airplane level. If they want to add more weapons, that is great. Obviously new multiplayer maps would be great, and maybe some new modes.

Oh, and grenade pooping has got to go. As does the insta-death grenade launcher. The grenade launcher should be lethal to you and the person you are trying to hit, from anything closer than maybe ten feet. Enough of people running around using it like a shotgun.

Other than that, COD4 was so close to perfect, that screwing with the formula would be nuts.

I remember sitting in a corner in veteran watching endless hordes of terrorist and Soldiers fighting for a full hour.

Veteran showed COD4 weaknesses for example the game won't let you advance unless you take a specific route. In 1 shot 1 kill unless I took a specific route the game won’t let you advance.

There were levels with finite enemies but were those with a timer like no fighting in the war room and Mile high club [Forced I got all the achivements commentary here]

There are a ton of already stupid suggestions, like snipers with silencers and multiple attachments.

Honestly, I hope they just go with their own decisions, since it IS their job to design games -_-

What's stupid about the ones you mentioned?

They were going for realism in this series. In real life you can put suppressors on sniper rifles and many weapons support multiple attachments. Obviously it'd be difficult to balance all the attachments, but as you said, that's their job.

I just hope they don't listen to all the people whining about perks and other moot issues.

Realism? Call of Duty is far from realistic. It's more of an arcade shooter than anything.

C'mon now.

Yeah, you have to balance the realistic with the gameplay. Silencers on sniper rifles is realistic and a no brainer, but thinking about that in a multiplayer it'd be pretty annoying and unfair.

And yeah, I'd say CoD4 is pretty arcadey. That's what I like about it tho.

I think the best suggestion I've heard so far is the ability to mute the lobby, lol.

To me, COD4 is to most "realistic" shooters what Burnout was to the racing genre...more arcade-y so you would spend less time on the learning curve and more time having fun. That being said, it's still more "realistic" than Halo and many other shooters out there. I think it bridges that gap nicely. My suggestion would be no more Martyrdom, but if they took that away something probably just as annoying would take its place. Just try the Customizable weapons/avatar route and stick to the COD4 formula. Oh, and CO-OP PLZ, KTHXBAI.

How about a perk that allows for two weapon modifications?

Red Dot + Silencer anyone?

No it wouldn't take away from the "choice" factor, because having the ability to have 1 more attachment to your gun should be a perk.

That is a REALLY bad idea. What is it with some of you? You want this game to be easy and annoying? Some people don't like to break from the mold of trying out different perks. They just want everything handed to them. 2 attachments on a gun? Come on. Some of you need to grow a pair. The perks are all balanced and it seems you can counter balance everything in the game by choosing different perks and changing your gun once in awhile. I think there should be a selection of what you can perform with a 7 streak kill. There should be more perks for sure. Some of you crying about juggernaut should just take a gun capable of shredding that shit. Not everyone plays everyday. COD4 and WAW are the only games I can think of on consoles that welcome new players as well as rewards veteran players. Some of these suggestions sound like tipping the balance and making online unplayable. Anyone try Halo lately? You have to have no job and no life to play some of the guys on their. Bungie has got to make some changes there cause online is a joke! I came to COD4 over a year late and was still able to hold my own against high prestiege officers. That's called a BALANCED game!

I don't understand how having two attachments on a weapon would make the game 'unbalanced'. Get rid of the grenade launchers and a perk like I've stated would work just fine. In fact I think it's something a lot of people would like to see in the next game, have you visited the twitter page?

Sorry Crusty... I'm not singling you out. Obviously everyone is entitled to a suggestion or opinion. Didn't mean to suggest yours was unimportant. In the end I just hope they can add new perks and take into account the suggestions posted while still maintaining fun and balance in the game. This is one of the few titles that has been out for over a year that I don't have to play everyday.. but can still revisit. It's unbelievable!! I'm excited for the next installment like many of the people commenting. Let's just hope it retains all of that fun factor and adds to it.

Nah, I prefer more detailed scripted missions than open ended environments.

But it'd be cool to have a choice between going left or right in a city and having a different set of events that leads to the end of the mission.

the character models and guns looked fantastic. but the textures were horrible in the ps3 version. if you laid in the grass, everything looked like crap. if they get some good textures, i'll be fine. and shooting speed has to be limited so no more modded controllers + G3... and like killzone 2, a small dedicated spawn point area on the map that's protected from airstrikes and helicopters and has auto turrets all around it to prevent spawn campers and at least 3 exits in case they camp out right outside the exit away from the bots..

and i mean that would be the best MP ever. if they don't have some of that stuff, at least the spawn point. because a lot of the time, in HQ, if someone had an airstrike, they could call it in right when the enemy team spawned and get 6 kills instantly. it wasn't fair at all.

@ lord

No. CoD has the best spawning system ever. By continuously changing where people spawn based on where the action and their team is, the flow of combat is much more dynamic, which is a big part of CoDs appeal.

yeah but after a few months with cod4, people could tell where the enemy would spawn from. in that one HQ match, my friend literally said "watch my airstrike, this is gonna be hilarious" and we all stopped running around and just stood there. the enemy team spawned, and all got killed by the airstrike. does that sound fair? i would rather have less dynamic action than be killed every time i spawn. and have you played killzone 2? the spawn system works perfectly. the maps are way bigger than any call of duty map but within 20 seconds, you would find yourself back in the action. with absolutely no spawn camping. in cod:w@w, the spawn system was a bit better than cod4 because it was way less predictable, but then you would have times when enemies would spawn right behind you and kill you in the middle of your 18 killstreak. if cod:mw2 could fix spawn problems once and for all, i would never touch another online game. until killzone 3.

Yea, I admit there are times when it seems a little cheap, but I still think it's better than having to run in from the same area over and over. That's what always bugged me about Halo, it takes you a minute to run across the map, only to die and have to trudge all the way over again.

If you upgrade the graphics to look like Killzone 2, then you'd have to make the frame rate equal to Killzone 2 as well. CoD keeps a consistant 60fps while KZ 2 is 30fps.

I played Killzone 2 for a bit at my friend's house, then went back to CoD4 and the difference in the frame rate was like taking a breath of fresh air. Not a knock on KZ 2's graphical prowess because there's alot of cool things going on the screen at the same time that would chug on CoD4 lol. Just saying you can't have both.

CoD4 still looks very good tho to this day. I wouldn't mind if the graphics stayed the same to be honest.

Christ, I could rant for hours about what's wrong with the game and how it could be changed for better. For starters make it more skill and less camping based. Slow this shit down while you're at it, too. And remove bullshit perks. And kill streak rewards. And fix the spawning system.

I'm really wondering why I'm still playing that game.

For the record, I disagree with everything you just said.

If you're still getting killed a lot by campers, you're not doing it right. A big part of the "skill" of playing CoD is knowing the map and predicting player's actions. You should know by now the best camping spots and anticipate being attacked.

The speed of the game is part of what makes it so enjoyable.

There are kill streak rewards: UAV, Airstrike, and Helicopter. Maybe you mean some sort of unlockables?
