MTV Multiplayer's Stephen Totilo recently posted a breakdown of the amount of playtime users logged during the month of February for various Wii titles using statistics that are readily available on the Nintendo Channel. Most of the results are unsurprising -- the top three spots are currently occupied by Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Guitar Hero III and Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, respectively. Those three titles have remained in said spots since September of last year.
However, a number of games saw massive usage boosts over the past month -- most notably, the average user's monthly playtime with Animal Crossing: City Folk increased nearly seven hours, bringing the game to a fifth-place finish for February. Similarly, Call of Duty: World at War's average playtime increased over five hours, bringing it up to 13th place. Sadly, Ninjabread Man didn't place at all -- but that won't stop us from holding out hope for a strong March showing.

I can believe the AC:CF usage boost...my kids and I are helping with those numbers. The game is damn addicting. Between the 3 of us, we easily spend 25 hours per week paying off our mortgages.

I do enjoy these, they help bust the fallacy about how nobody plays their Wiis

Unfortunately, if you tally all the hours played on all the games, and then divide them by the number of Wii's out in the wild, I bet it'd be a pretty sad number. As the article says:
These numbers do not reflect overall usage of these games on the Wii but instead reflect usage of the more than 2 million Americans who are sharing info with the channel (up from 1.9 million last month).
So basically, only the people who share the information are counted. Not trying to bash the Wii, just trying to point out that sample set, while pretty large, can't be seen as an indication that everybody is using their Wii.

bu-but, tmac told me hardcore games don't sell on the Wii and thus games like Call of Duty should be way behind games like Petz Sea Monkies and Imagine: Soccer Mom Making an Impulse Purchase for Something they Will Never Use. Are you telling me that the "hardcore" demographic ISNT the end all be all of gaming knowledge?

Definitley one of those nerds spending vacuous amounts of time on Animals Crossing: City Folk. I got the game for Christmas and have really been getting into it over the past few weeks. A friend online managed to pick it up and it seriously is like ten times more enjoyable with another player to interact with.
Brawl's been on the back burner for a couple of months now, though. Mario Kart Wii is just waaay more addicting.
